Truly, my truck is not loud, unless i want it to be!! I have no drone in cab and unless I floor it and really drive the hell out of it, the tone of the exhaust is great, smooth and even.... its even better when I drive the hell out of it tho....:metal:

The guy that did my exhaust had a 69 in his lot that had super 44's on it and after mine was done he asked if he could compare the sound... after hearing the sound from the spintechs and his super 44's... he said he will change over ina year or so. He wanted to "feel" like he got his money Worth on the flows...

not sure, who the guys where who made the design, but I'm sure glad I bought them... stands outs in the crowd of v8's on flowmaster juice.. Spintechs are as "tinny" sounding.. if that's even a word. Flowmasters have that thin high sound at the peak of the tone, where spintechs do not.

Here are a few videos I found that I have posted in the past, not the best, but you can hear what you need to in them.

Walk around

Short cold start Garage

Short cold start driveway

This truck is very quiet (no, seriously) compared to mine. Based on the "walk around" video, but especially the "short cold start garage" capturing the sound in the garage, I'm surprised how civilized your truck sounds. My computer is fairly high end and Bose sound system is pretty decent and I think I'm getting a realistic "listen" to your truck. I guess I need to get ahold of a video camera to be able to realistically compare the two truck sounds.

Also, let's clarify something here...I'm not opposed to the sound of my truck, it's just the raw decibel level is fairly high. Everyone that sees/hears my truck just loves it. But, as an example, I live about 30 miles from work and I generally don't even listen to the radio due to the exhaust from the truck.

A couple of things I noticed is your exhaust appears to be a little smaller, but it also exits at the rear tire. My exhaust turns down right in front of the rearend and I think it keeps a lot of the sound under the truck!

Wonder where I can borrow a camcorder??? :c2:

Tried to get my camera's video capability to pick up the sound of the truck. Apparently there was some serious tonal distortion and the sound was not good at all. Tested my phone to see if it would work and it was marginally better. So, let's see if I can embed the little clip I made yesterday.

Here's the sound from the headers, 3-inch pipe, and SpinTechs...

After hearing the recorded sound of my truck, it helped put the AustinScott videos in better perspective. My truck does have a good tone, maybe it's just my ears!! lol

Got my engine mocked up to make sure all the parts will fit... looks like i will have to do a little trimming to allow clearance for the bolts.

I installed some arm rests from a 55-66 chevy truck and new sunvisors that I ordered from Classic chevy parts. I also cleaned up a A/C control panel I bought at a swap meet a couple weeks ago. Also test fit a new bench seat and new foam, taking it to an upholstry shop next week.

Took out radiator, fan housing, headlights, and then after a lot of screaming stopped because of the stubborn bumper...I know it can be removed, just not today :)

NICE Truck!!:metal:

The exhaust on my truck when I first put it together exited under the truck (turn-downs before rear axle) it was to loud in cab, so I had the current setup fabbed up that exits out the side. The sound in cab was cut in half.
I bet if you just had the end sections re-done to exit out the back or rear you would be much happier with the exhaust note.

The engine in the truck is a head swap 327.
Spintech's = Sportsman-3000 2.5" in/out

These videos where taken only a few days after getting the exhaust put in.
They have had some time to "mature" (fill with carbon) any they are a tad bit quieter now after a year or so of running with an overly fueled engine.

Sounds awesome dhaymaker, I have a set of Spintech Super Pro Streets on mine behind a BBC. Still haven't fired it yet so I don't know what it sounds like. I'm hoping it sounds as good as yours.

I've been thinking of doing the same. You happy with it? You can take the knob for added security too right?

Yesterday the the brake and clutch pedals went in. Clutch is hooked up and adjusted. Windshield washer hoses and sprayers installed. Emergency brake cable attached and conected. Power steering hoses connected. Today the carburetor is going on and start wiring the engine harness. It feels good, my goal is to have truck on the road by April 15th.
I had to turn the dipstick because it was in the way of the clutch linkage. That wasn't fun.
