EDIT: DUH. Disregard - for some reason I thought you were talking about the 68 Custom Camper.... senior moment. I'm on the fence on the price on the 70, it is a little high I agree, but would be a great truck to have in the barn. The ebay pics show the buckets in it. It appears to have been really well cared for/preserved. |

This was on Reading Pa's craigslist last week. Not to many show up in our area that are not falling off the frame in this price range..I was on my lunch and truck was just posted..It was one of those adds with little info.."Chevy truck V8,needs new home",,i noticed the cst in pictures and called asap...brought it home yesterday in zero degree weather....59,000 miles,307,powerglide,positraction,ac,ps,pb,stabilizer,helper springs, the interior is saddle and has the door panels with the bowtie emblem...plan on putting correct hub caps on it and using as is..Drives very nice..to cold for pictures but here is a couple, spid came out blurry.Has an unusual bin grafted into the bed, gate is straight..gave 3k........Rob

I don't know if this qualifies as a CL find or more of a CL avoid? If I recall a board member(User name Pusifier?)looked at this truck in person and found it was a cut frame? No SPID either.

That is correct. Frame has been cut SPID is missing and there is rust present. I have been flagging prohibited on craigslist for the last year and he just keeps posting. Wouldn’t make me as mad if he wasn’t trying to pass it off as something it was not. It’s not a bad looking truck, but they did a piss poor job cutting the frame and re-welding it. I don’t know who posted this beware listing but kudos. |
