Was scrounging in the fridge and found this tiny can of Coke (quarter for scale). We got it on our honeymoon when we flew SAS to Europe off a beverage cart on our way to England. The only way we could afford to go is because we stayed with my brother who was stationed in England at the time. Took some serious scrounging and a bunch of small cash wedding gifts to pull this off. Ah the good old days 36 years ago last week. We’ve kept it every fridge we’ve ever had. I have no idea what we are ever going to do with it.

Don't drink it, now! Unless you have a need for aluminum in your diet, at least.

Congrats on 36. We had our 41ts in February.

Not placing an add either for free wood. Too many weirdos out there and I don't need them at my place.

Willow is a very low quality firewood . Not many people will burn it

This is what my 80 year old dad does, he cuts up his trees and splits it for heat. PGE just cut down 30 trees on his property to clear power lines, they cut them in to 16" pieces and stacked them for him, now he needs to split it up!!! AND HE"S 80 YEARS OLD!!!!!

Saw this at a car show we went to this weekend. It's called a Youabian Puma. Thing is huge!

I'm not seeing "a pleasure to drive" here. I'm seeing something to spend money on for someone who already has everything they want and just want to spend money.

You'd get nothing but weirdos coming for willow as firewood. It is perfect for a burn pile and that's about it... other than making ash.

This is the one I used. Yep, the Stanley Yankee. I dug it out from the bottom of a tool box. I haven't used that thing since I was a young man. I also have a Milwaukee drywall screw gun. Those were the first power drivers, though specialized for drywall. I remember when they came out with a clutch you put in the drill chuck then put your screw bit in that. No tension adjustment. They kind of worked and kind of seemed easier but maybe not. I remember the clutch would slip so you'd remove the clutch and try that. Sometimes strip the screw, sometimes it worked. I first learned to drill a hole, put soap on the screw, and start twisting your screwdriver. Works like a charm.

I had this '63 Nova for a short while, but I traded it for a '55 1st pickup. I think this is the only picture I have, back in '82. It had a 283/Powerglide in it, blue interior

Hey I had one of those. Never finished mine either. I traded it straight up for my 69 AMX. The kid that owned the AMX's dad was sick of him getting tickets in it. I was at the car dealership my dad was working at and the car was in their shop. I was looking it over and the dad said ... You wanna buy it? I told him I didn't have the cash to buy it. He asked if I had anything to trade and I told him all I have is the Nova. He asked what engine it had ... Six with three on the tree for now. Told me he would trade me straight up right now. I jumped on it. The kid smashed up the Nova in a deep ditch not too long after the trade. And yes I got a few tickets in the AMX haha!

This is the only picture I have of it. I did the body work and took it to Miracle Paints or was it Earl Schieb? I dunno was so long ago. Just needed to put the better grill in but never had the chance.

Sweet Nova, and a great story to go with it.

Fast car story- When I was working as a mechanic, the boss' son had a '74 Camaro with a 350 and a 4-speed. He was working on it and asked me to road test it. I took it around the block, and started looking into whether the secondaries (Holley) were opening up, because it was a real dog. Well, the kid kept throwing parts at it, Mallory distributor, some aluminum intake, etc. I came in to work one morning and was asked to figure out why it had "stalled" and why the "starter was bad", because it wouldn't turn over, anymore. He had put some manifold on that had a taller boss for the distributor, and also hadn't tightened the hold down clamp enough. I immediately figured out that the engine was seized from lack of oil, and pulled the pan. Yup, #5 and #6 rod caps were blue. Pulled the engine and also discovered that the cam lobes were pretty scrubbed, which explained the lack of power (NOT the secondaries, ). Rebuilt it and put a lumpy cam in it. He took it down the nearest side street after cam break-in and rear-ended someone pulling off a side street. That was it, the dad sold the Camaro. Some even younger kid's dad bought it, and within 3 weeks it had a dent on every panel but the roof! And then he totaled it.

That's cool we both had a Nova a while. Yours was purdy. Mine ran . I don't think I paid anything for it. A guy from Arkansas who had rented the house I was renting (friend of room mate) had left it behind and never came back. He gave it to me after I wrecked my '69 Power Wagon. I never had a key for it. It was left in unlock position.

My friend had also leant me his '55 1st Design pickup after the crash. When he found out Lee had given me the Nova he offered to truck the pickup for it and I went for it. You can see a little bit of the truck in the picture.

My next door neighbor had a 63? Nova SS. He was a jerk and he ruined that car. He tore all the SS trim off and put in the most god awful bright blue seats. The car was bronze. They didn't look good. Nothing he did to that poor thing looked good. It was a nice car when he got it. It was a mess when he sold it.

picked up this fun little revolver recently - 1971 Ruger Blackhawk old model convertible .45 Colt / .45 acp :metal:

checks all my boxes;
my year
first year edition (.45)
low four digit serial
only made three years (old model - three screw)
low production (last year serial starts 21,804)
unmolested (not converted to transfer bar)
factory convertible with both original cylinders
original box and spare cylinder velvet bag / box
adjustable rear sight (super)
original SR medallion grips
short 'gunslinger' 4 5/8" barrel
worn enough to shoot - clean enough to look good doing it

nice addition to my '71 ruger lineup!

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/gesgffjhy5l..._9928.jpg?dl=0

shoots .45acp pretty well - 5yds slow fire 6rds

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/l9eiooim9tx...22476.jpg?dl=0

but have to give a nod to the .45lc at 15yds 2-3sec shot intervals 18rds ea

while we were out, my 10yo boy did some damage on that bad guy and saved a hostage!

1971 Blackhawk. 357 old model unconverted with .38 specials at 7yds :metal:

I like those Rugers. My first handgun was a Ruger 22 single six with both cylinders with a western holster and gun belt in 1972. I gave the belt away but I still have the 22 and holster to this day.

This stick bug jumped on my arm at work today. I usually see a ton of spiders so it scared me at first.
