can't beat that! i got a Goodmark one from Summit Racing last year, & it was flawed...so i sent it back & got one from Classic Parts, & it was a nice piece and fit great...thanks for the info

I called yesterday and she said the blaster had been out all week due to car troubles.

I did hear of a body man that doesn't like using filler. He metal finishes everything. I have yet to get his number or see him. Still investigating that.

I met with a highly recommended body man here in town. He looked at the hood and said he can fix it for $75. I think that is pretty cheap. It kind of scares me. ;). I asked him his procedures and sounded right to me.

I wish I was more capable of doing it myself. Sometimes we have to admit our weaknesses. We'll see what comes of the hood.

Not yet, got to see how it turns out.

I think he did the blaster a favor. They might have a good working relationship.

No word on the hood yet. I heard he is slow, but good. That's fine by me.

Some other progress made today. The upohlstery guy got the seats apart and gave the plastic trim pieces so I can paint them. I got them degreased tonight. Hope to paint this week.

That sounds just like the guy we picked to restore my wifes 72 LeMans/Enduro Sport Convertible back home.
He is trying to retire, and I guess it was something I said as he was turning down the job that made him change his mind and take her car on.

I also hope the best for your hood, I bet it turns out fine!

i might call tomorrow and check on the hood.

Got the trim pieces painted tonight, so I can get them back to the upohlstry shop tomorrow. I just went thru the interior color chip book and picked out a color that would work. I just wanted to go with a satin black single stage. The flash was on in the first pic of the trim. It kind of washed it out.

I could have looked in a GM color, but black is black. ;)

As far as the hood, I called Friday and the guy hasn't even gone to pick it up yet. The upholstery shop is closed on Fridays as well.

Tried to get the wiper linkage installed temporarily because I need to take the motor back out and install the seal (Christams present). Discovered I was missing the link off the motor. It's somewhere, but luckily Greg brought my parts cab back and it had one on it.

I also used a Port-o-power to fix the frame rail. It had three cracks in it that showed up while working it. I never knew there were 3 cracks there. I saw one a little while ago. I had the frame sand blasted and primed since I was in the process of building my shop 4 years ago. I never saw the frame in bare metal. The primer they used was thick and hides a lot of stuff. Just another minor set back. I'll repair the cracks and repaint the frame horn.

Thanks man!! I'd love to see your truck as well. Your level of craftsmanship seems unreachable to me. That won't keep me from trying tho. ;)

I got a call today saying my hood is ready. I plan on getting it tomorrow.

All I can say is I should have tried it myself. Now I don't have a choice. I guess I do have a choice, but I can mess it up just as good as others. I'll post more later.

Though I AM sorry to hear your hood did not meet your expectations, I rest assured that your work to fix it will more than make up for it.
