Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Well the Cummins swap was just an Idea that popped into my head as I have a spare 12v and NV4500 sittin here but I just might stick that in my old 67.
My other plans are to find a set of stock wheels and hubcaps and put some tall skinnys back on it like the originals. Other than that It might get a rust free set of fenders, some bed wood and thats about it. I like the patina of this old truck too. I kinda wish I never would've primered my 67 as it had an awesome patina back in the day. Heres a few more pics of my 60. http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...ckstuff003.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...%204X4/235.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...ckstuff001.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/60716011.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/60716012.jpg Its even got Patina on the interior. http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...204X4/seat.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...04X4/floor.jpg And it is suprisingly solid for being a Nebraska truck and having a snoplow on it for part of its life. http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...X4/rocker1.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...X4/rocker2.jpg http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...4/60716020.jpg |

What's your frame look like? I know quite a few people up there that have rusted out frames from the salt on the roads and stuff. Down here where I'm at we have salt in the air (ocean breeze) so our bodies rust out alot faster. |
Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
My frame is nice and clean(rust free that is). I'll snap a few pics later.
If you want a Cummins you can find em cheap, just gotta keep your eyes and ears open on CL and what not. I paid 1700 for my 90 5 years ago and its been my driver since then it now has over 400,000 on it, The 96 parts truck I bought I paid 1500 for. http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...epics001-7.jpg BTW this is what it looks like. http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...epics006-6.jpg |
Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Damn thats another nice truck!:metal:
My cousin had a 97 Dodge diesel and that thing would get through any mud hole we ever took it through. For right now we're just gonna throw a 350 in it but I'd like to eventually build a bad ass 283 to put in it and get the original steering column with the 3 on the tree. |

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Ol' 'Big Ugly' sure does have some potential....
By looking at your pic's, I can pretty much calculate where to mount that Unity top-mount spot light that I've been hangin' on to.... Still can't decide on top mt. or cowl mt....I have both. But that big red truck should definitely make us all smile when you two get her dialed in. Actually, I can't swear that the top-mt is a Unity....But it looks like the one on Big-Ugly. |
