We never had any of the Patrols here, just Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruisers starting around 67-68,and not many until the '70s. I remember seeing one FJ 45 pickup. I saw my first Patrol when I went out west in the early '70s.I never saw those early ones, though.

That is rare, and it's a 4dr. There were some cool 4wds not offered here in the states. And,some cool ones offered that very few bought...before the SUV craze. Now they make stuff to look as tough as the old ones that really were. I have been stuck on All American for decades and am recently going more interest in rare and unusual foreign rigs. My interest in 4wds goes back to the '60s,so anything from back then is alright with me (or better than anything made now,for sure).

Nice ones! Here are some Willys and other ones from an antique truck show last month. That last Ford has a Powerstroke. I believe the whole frame or drivetrain/suspension was from the later model diesel donor. A very tastefully done job

Since we are posting other makes, I came across this on craigslist. No it is not mine, but I thought that it has some major potential. This is the only picture in the ad.
http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/2646938460.html It is a crossbred 1977/1992 dodge cummins crewcab longbed 4x4. I would love to own it, but HOAs are terrible where I am. Besides there is no way it would fit in my garage. |

I glance over that book the seller wrote but didn't see what kinda money he's looking to get. Looks like a Cummins donor to me. But,I'd want a 5spd.
Speaking of Dodge, have I shown these yet? |

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes
Here is the reason I have not been on the board much lately. I bought this Jeep a little over a year ago and have been working on it ever since. I had a similar one as a teenager - 1975 Renegade with a 304. I bought this one the original owner's son. It is a late production date, June 1975, the father bought it on October 15th of that year. I have the warranty card. It was very original, still had the catalitic converter on it from 1975. (Non working of course!) There are more pictures on photobucket under my user name chevy17super.

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes
WOW! That's a fine example and a real time capsule with those aluminum slots, headers and side pipes. And,being a Levis edition, especially in blue, puts it over the top. My brother-in-law,back in HS had a goldish green Renegade w/304. We had a blast in that thing.
75GMC454,I like it. Only Dodge made the 3/4t short bed back then. I always thought that was so cool. I always wanted to change my '69 to that grille. |
