Been looking for a used, dead Radio Flyer tub to use on this build.
Tonight I managed to get this Hazet tray and a bunch of tools. Should make a nice tray. Not as nice as @Johnnybravo has been able to snag, but happy to have a better part than the porta potty. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pspqgax5at.png |
Re: GRIZZ’s ‘79 - 2WD BLAZER Challenge over in London, England. “~It’s not a Project
So last night the sun set was even better, having snagged the Hazet tray.
https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pspjrqgv3m.jpg Up at 5am, thanks to Harley, then 28 miles to fetch my prize. Took Prozac in the end as it’s just such a nice tool. Thankfully as there were some really narrow lanes to get there and the Blazer is rather wide. Nice guy the seller. Tools. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9ubftelp.jpg Included was a mini tabletop Workmate with all of its parts, and a serious woodmans axe. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psjslinqcb.jpg And mocked up. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps58gowbzi.jpg Looks like we are in business. |
Re: GRIZZ’s ‘79 - 2WD BLAZER Challenge over in London, England. “~It’s not a Project
Discovered this in my shed.
Really nice steering gear. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psb13ewhjy.jpg Sally was helping me unpack the tools from the box. Big ones. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psihgbhfuj.jpg Little ones. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psbhsvy357.jpg Included in the tools were quite a few SnapOn tools https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pswhfvhhiw.jpg Eventually got it all unpacked, sorted. Look closely at just how many tools this purchase netted. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psp6qdt3og.jpg Eventually we got to this mock up. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps91lxh1tx.jpg Other end. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psv2dmoxpc.jpg When I shut the garage and walked up, I realised just how nicely the relaunched garden has come up. Thanks to Sally. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psrhje1zzz.jpg I guess next will be the actual build. After this. We headed out to the Sheppeyncar meet in the Blazer Much more fun than be allowed. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psscnncm1s.jpg |

Not a lot of pics of it in motion Bootfair was worth it A very good internet friend and mentor on Garage Journal in Australia recently lost the fight against cancer. He had inspired many around the world and will be missed a lot. Various mementos have been generated in Steve “1/2 Cup” Church’s memory. One of his things was to get Quality Shed Time in. Thank you Gazza in Australia for the QST stickers. @CraigRK obviously snagged one and Dennis Jones gets one too. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psr1lrerhd.jpg Once I have decided on the right place, which may be inside my house (I live there and pay the mortgage) I will show its place of honour. Trusting Steve will approve. Continuing on the 54 Bel Air theme @CraigRK and I have spent hours talking about it and all the potential permutations of buying it. Including the cost of modifications and service parts and upgrades. Not cheap by any means but it will mean a decent safe car if it gets bought. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psixpxq4ku.jpg More later. |

Took the chairs Sawdust Steve brought over, to Sally’s place in Prozac tonight.
Left it there as she is gutting her bedroom and it all will go to the tip. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psnyxj2snb.jpg As always, the little van that can is delivering |
Re: GRIZZ’s ‘79 - 2WD BLAZER Challenge over in London, England. “~It’s not a Project
Got home yesterday from a day spent at Sally’s place completely gutting and tearing her bedroom and all of its furniture apart.
Her son, daughter in law and grandson will be moving in for two years with her in order to save up for a deposit on their own place. The lovely landlord where they have lived the last three years and cleaned up and improved at their own cost has doubled the rent. So she is giving them the large main bedroom, redecorated and moving herself into the third very small bedroom. Crazy, but that’s a mother’s love, and they are good hardworking kids. Being that it all will be going into Prozac the van, for disposal at the local council tip 10:miles away, it really needed to be completely dismantled, right down to the handles, knobs, runners, hinges etc which @CraigRK is getting for his garage projects where he builds sliding storage solutions.. Got home and there was a surprise parcel in the kitchen, which Tim, the new lodger must have got from Mickey next door when he came in from his all day training course. I opened the parcel and found a note, two number plates and a number plate surround. The new plate was from a 1955 Lambretta scooter, unused, for my collection. The second plate was an original 1962 California plate, clearly worked all its life. Parcel from Ernie, PedalcarJoe, collector of high end stuff. In this case, he had been told to get rid of his first ever emotional patina purchase by power that is Mrs PCJ. So the reason I wanted to sell the Blazer in the first place, and have been buying upholstery fabric and other bits, and even now, am looking for an INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE, was because I wanted to buy Ernie 1962 Ford Falcon Country Squire. Which of course has now sold, hence the 1954 Chevy Bel Air moving into the picture, unless I find something else more interesting https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psjinklzaz.jpg This was the car for those who did not know it. And yes, it would have kept its look, mostly. .a very eventful weekend for me, Sally and Prozac.
She was gutting and destroying all of her bedroom furniture I had to dismantle it all, flatpack reversed. Halfway through it. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9kyt5ffn.jpg Also managed to find her a new garden gate on FB market place for £25.00 This was to be collected on Sunday in Prozac https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psadtxsyfi.jpg https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psel2bip7w.jpg After packing the van we went to my place, Sally bought dinner. Pensioners portion for me, weird order, three pieces of fish in one lump. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pscdqailfj.jpg So after Bootfair today, I went to empty the van, followed by picking up the gate. Fits easily into the rear https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psggsxlhzz.jpg Then back at Sally’s place. Fitted. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psoelfhfup.jpg And the rest of the bedroom furniture, bed frame etc along with the old gate, ready for disposal. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pstvcfx7gr.jpg |

Morning Andy, THREAD HERE: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/...d.php?t=334140 These Arrived in St Louis yesterday For @CraigRK and @djones1 and myself. Thank you very much for forwarding these on to us. I suspect Dennis may let us know where his is going to go. Craig, who knows, he has such a variety of possible places to post it. Me........? Not sure yet, certainly indoors for starters, just to sit and enjoy, reflect, and talk about Steve’s legacy to anyone who will listen, there is always a chance to pay it forward in a life lesson for others. Thanks again for the effort you are putting in for all of us, making these and individually shipping them around the world. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psol17mk9v.jpg |

Sometimes the stars aligning makes all the difference
Well.... I created one. (A wagon) Craig really wanted a Radio Flyer based wagon to drag around autojumbles and bootfairs as well as other uses. Thank Last night Sally saw one listed on FB Marketplace for £15.00 which is crazy low, 22 minutes after it got listed. So we jumped on it from here and got @CraigRK onto it. Today he did a detour from London to Streatham to pick it up. Happy camper. Couple of stations. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psopux80x6.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstq9o0jbb.jpg Little Red Wagon on an adventure. A road trip really. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pseehk6e7n.jpg On the train. Standing room only. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstjvqjsro.jpg Back to Leatherhead and into the back of the AMG ML500 donor for the 50 Chevy truck. Happy wagon. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psoitrku5x.jpg |

Sally and I popped over to Essex and IKEA yesterday, making a detour to meet up with @PaulY and Lulu at J28 of the M25 to collect @CraigRK ‘s new Chevy Tailgate that Paul had collected in Luton last week, so next stop Leatherhead.
Sally was eager with the camera and got it, including Lulu first. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psld9r3epo.jpg A really neat tailgate https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psjiidd72b.jpg I guess it’s Bound to happen some times. Bootfair mainly sucked for me today Always interesting sellers though, this guy is a regular with cameo stuff. I like NATO or Cammo green. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psat2cimyv.jpg But @CraigRK was the winner with this large set of Augers for £6.00 https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4utkvtpn.jpg https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...pshjt6c1at.jpg The total haul. Re: GRIZZ’s ‘79 - 2WD BLAZER Challenge over in London, England. “~It’s not a Project
Just a quicky.
Got home this week to another parcel from Jonesboro in Arkansas My friend Steve of the two Purple Hearts, had gathered me some plates that fit right into my box of interest. The RC Cola vanity plate is cool, as I used to drink it years ago in South Africa. https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psjmhw0qnr.jpg https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psz8kwfh0s.jpg Randomly other stuff. It is winter in South Africa right now. And COLD. I saw 37’C in my car this week. A friend sent me this pic, spotted on the way to work, yes, real central heating. Note the street sign. In South Africa, a Traffic light is known as. ROBOT...... https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psc0oivwlf.jpg New meaning to getting on your high horse?? https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/...psrhkkyes0.jpg |
