Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Hay Captainfab, are you making a disc brake conversion kit for an 8 lug Dana 60 with e-brakes? If so, how much is the kit? Thanks
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
No I do not make any rear disc brackets for a 8 lug Dana 60. The Dana 60's are a little difficult to make disc brake brackets for. There are at least 6 different backing plate flanges, depending on the year of the differential and whether it was originally installed under a GM, Ford or Dodge.

pay pal sent

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I was wondering who that payment was from since the payment was not from you or your name was not with it anywhere. Your Camaro brackets are at the powder coaters.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Oops sorry I always forget that that acct has a old buisness name attached to it. I should have put my name in the comment area. Thank you for keeping me in mind as my project is starting to come together and starting to be reassembled, 3 years of work just to give the truck away. But it will be a awesome truck when complete. Thanks captain fab

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Captainfab,
Are you still selling the Camaro brackets and if you are how much are they going for shipped to 78574? |
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Yes I still make the Camaro caliper brackets. However I am currently out of them. I have more parts being laser cut, but I am not sure if I will receive them tomorrow or Monday. The price is exactly the same as in post #1.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Are these still available? I have a 71 gmc 5lug with drums. This is the bracket I need to run the d52 caliper to put disks in the rear!.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Yes, all of my products are still available.
I don't know how you are going to mount D52 calipers to these brackets. You would be better off starting with my D52 brackets. Quote:

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I need a set for 68 GMC. How much? what rotor will I need to purchase?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
That information is in post #1 of this for sale thread.
I assume your GMC has a truck 12 bolt and not the Dana 44? Quote:

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
How much does this swap cost average with all parts?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I have no idea what the current cost is on this conversion. That is going to depend on what you will pay for the caliper and bracket cores or if you just pay the core charge when you purchase rebuilt calipers with the bracket.
Here is the cost comparison I did nearly 7 years ago, in post #32. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...=398352&page=2 Quote:

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Under $350 in total cost so far. |

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I have used Moser axles to convert my 71 truck 12 bolt to a 5x4.75(GM car) lug pattern. If I purchase the Camaro caliper brackets what would I use for rotors since the Bolt pattern has been changed? Will the Camaro rotors and calipers work? Thanks!
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
The '93-'97 Camaro (F body) have a 5 x 4.650" wheel stud pattern, plus these brackets are designed to use the '94-'96 Impala SS/Caprice 9C1 rear rotors. You can not just change rotors and still have the caliper line up with the rotor. To use these brackets on a differential with the 5 x 4.75 wheel stud pattern, you will have to drill the 4.75" pattern in between the 5 x 5 pattern on the Impala SS rotors. I do have a set of brackets that are designed for the 5 x 4.75 wheel stud pattern on a truck/Impala 12 bolt, but I just haven't put them on the market yet. They use a different caliper.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Hi Captian
I have a 69 that I'm converting to 5 Lug. I plan to just redrill my current axles and turn down the center of them. I was going to just get some 5 lug drums. However I scored a set of calipers and brackets Will these brackets still work on my 69 Axles ? Thanks Allen |
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
As long as your '69 has a truck 12 bolt, it will be really no different than any other '64-'82 truck 12 bolt. I don't remember if the Impala SS rotors require to turn down the OD of the axle flange or not.
