Re: 68 project
Making progress. Cool stuff.
|
Re: 68 project
Slowly but surely, the bed strips and bed bolt kits will be here Monday and the boyd rear tank will also be here next week from Azperformance :chevy:
|
Re: 68 project
Nice work, keep it up.
|
Re: 68 project
Man, you're rolling!!!
|
Re: 68 project
The tailgate needs a little more work than I expected but it will be a survivor, sand blasting tends to open up things that could nt be seen before :chevy:
Hopefully in about three weeks the bed will be completed and ready to bolt down permanently but there is still a good bit of work it is the small things you tend to forget that slow you down, I will have to get my fuel lines and brake lines bent and mounted before reinstalling any of the body. I will be removing the cab here before long so I can finish up the body work on it and get it painted and ready for permanent install. |
Re: 68 project
Yeah I had 20 hours body work on the inside and outside of my tailgate. Wish I would have bought a new one. But not now. All original.
Looking good man. Love the wood floor. |
Re: 68 project
That sounds reasonable  I will probably have at least that into mine also if not more.

Re: 68 project
you putting the tank under the bed with filler cap in bed floor or how you doing that? Just curious. Trying to get mental pic. How are stencils coming along?
|
Re: 68 project
Thanks Robert, yes, filler will be inside the bed. Won't be too long and you will be able to visually see it. :chevy:
|
Re: 68 project
So I ordered the stencils online the company refunded my money and went out of business. :sumo:
A local company is going to make my stencils, Sign Resources a block from my work |
Re: 68 project
No way. Seems like that would have been something they would have seen coming when you ordered them. That's crazy. Seen a guy on Facebook Saturday that's local that does like old school stuff. "Dish did it" He did some stuff on that guys 72 that stopped by on Saturday. Looked pretty good.

The grand prize came in today and I also was able to get the back of the wear bars painted.

Re: 68 project
I've got the EFI version of that tank. They are a work of art!! Progress is looking phenomenal.

Re: 68 project
Dish used to do a lot of cars at Bowman Gray. I see his truck time 2 time. I think he does both vinyl and painted. I would think just about any local sign shop could make any stencil you would need. Glad to see parts showing up. Keep on keeping.

Then welded up a new Xmember that can be unbolted so I can remove the tank when I get the frame powder coated. |

Re: 68 project
If my tank looked that good I would mount it atop my cab roof
|
Re: 68 project
I wish my welds were HALF as nice as those!
