48, thanks man I've seen your posts and burb. Which I love. Actually in the 4 years of doing this, I'v come across zero burbs, until the other day I made a phone call and one thing lead to another and a guy has one he might part with. I want a burb so bad and also a COE that I'm gonna put on a nice dodge dually frame from a camper. I have a slew of projects and more coming. Pretty soon I'm gonna post two truck builds on here. Should be getting a 53' plymouth real soon and I think I'm gonna chop that one in between all my other projects. I can't wait to get another one done, its been killing me not having the time and money to do them all. Just passed up car going to the shredder because I just couldn't afford it and the time. Soo bummed cause it had a title too. So thats more fuel for my fire on getting my rescue network site up. Glad you like the build, thanks.

8-30-13 FINALLY, posting one of my other builds 49' Patina bagged in PA
Oh and BTW, this truck would have gone to the shredder had I not saved it, same with the panel in the BG and a few other ones I have. Just had to pass up a 51' styleline cause I'm pressed for time and money. Sad but I'm doing what I can saving as many as I can.

purdue, that was the first and only time I had in there an it was for a 2 minute ride. My daily driver was down so I used my 51' for over a week as my daily. just so happened I had to take my daughter to her grams. Still cool though. I'm getting her a pink pedal car when she is two and I'm going to customize it a little, should be cool taking her to shows with her car. Trying to get to my 53' belair little by little that will be our family cruizer.

http://www.pknpk.com/fallfest-schedule.html

Here is a sneak peak on the 2014 calendar I'm doing. Next year I'd def like to get some more guys from this site involved. Everything in here is either mine or some friends of mine, couple are from some guys I met on other sites. Tried to mix it up but its still a little chevy heavy, but hey gotta love that. Should be available on my site in December.

finally made it to another show. This one was huge, I'm thinking 500 cars huge. Wish I had pics of the show but man the day was so hectic I didn't even get any, I'll see if my friends got some. We showed up late because my starter celenoid was acting up again, so that set me back, had to push start her twice today. Beat the rain until the end and it poured and rained almost whole way home. Show was at Peak n' Peak resort in NY which is about 45 minutes from where my truck is at. So I put about 100 miles on her today.

called my friend up last minute with his 39 desoto so he met us from erie and on the way back amidst the rain, he broke down, so I turned around to help him out, couldn't shut my truck off the whole time, went to get him gas, wasn't the problem, turned out to be the points.

car in the middle is my friends 54 belair 235 with duals. He is doing a rack and pinion, new trans and open ended rear for next year. its a classic custom I love cruisin with it

Been working on my 49' getting all the body moched up with suspension now. The front fenders on it now are just moch ups, hoping to have the actual clip mounted soon. Bed depth should be pretty good with no tubs, which I'm happy about. Once body is all lined up I'll make all the mounts, then rad mount, engine/transplacement, and then work on cab and cab floor. Once that is done, I may either strip the frame or have it sandblasted. Other than that I should be hitting up the pittsburgh autorama in January with my 51'. Setting up a booth again there. Wish I would have started the 49' sooner so I could bring it.

1-21-14 Got the 51' down to pittsburgh 100 mile journey in the snow. roads were much better than last year. It was maybe 7deg max today, luckily I have a heater. I went a different route than normal since I drive back and forth every tues and thursday to pittsburgh. the autorama show is this weekend at the convention center. I'll post some pics of it and my booth. I recorded a video but for some reason hasn't shown up on my phone. I'll shoot
some this week hopefully.

1/27/14 Well this years autorama wasn't so hot. Weather was pretty bad so I think attendance was low. Also they crammed everything on one floor as opposed to two. My booth was in a worse location than last so I def felt the damage of half the sales as last year. Here are some pics of a few things from the show, there was alot more than this of course. The way back home was soo cold, just like the way down about zero outside so add in the windchill and yeah not fun. That and the roads were horrible by the time I got up north, lotta snow and salt. I'll post a pic of the damage after I load these pics.

here is the truck at my shop unloading, in the slush. also when I got the truck back up north where it stays, you can see its salt bath. I did wash it off in the frigid cold but def need a warm day at the carwash. Last year I got salted on my way down, but way back it rained real good so it washed it all off. wasn't so lucky this year.

Looks good...funny one reason you like this truck is the vent windows.
I have built 5 or 6 that I have taken the vents out of.
PIA for sure.
Different strokes for different folks

Re: 51' 3100 build in PA New to Site

iceburgh, yeah funny alot of guys take the vents out. I just dig em and like those old cooling techniques like the cowl vent or side vent on pre 51' cabs. There are some things that I just like keeping stock to show how it was done back then, I like the minor details, just like drip edge, lotta guys shave em, I just like em. But, depends on the vehicle. AD's have a real soft spot in my heart, I don't like changing much except stance and things you can't see. heck I even want an all OG stocker to cruise is, untouched. I have one but its a 6400 dumptruck, not ideal for cruising around!! Hit me up if you have some vents to sell sometime.

99 to life, Love the truck! The look, the patina, stance etc. Killer!!! I do have a few Q's though, I've read through the whole build and I can't seem to find how you got such a nice static stance. I saw the drop spindles. Is that all you did in the front? Also what did you do to lower the rear? Blocks? I have a 55 1st that I had a drop axle on for a while but I want this thing to ride like a modern vehicle so I just picked up an s10 chassis to swap to. I am doing all the research I canto figure out what the best cab mounting height is. Any suggestions? Thanks man!

Re: 51' 3100 build in PA New to Site

steve, thanks man. Yah I prolly just wrote more than posted pics on some stuff. My formula is 2" drops in front, stock coil springs, 26" tires. Rear, 3" lowering block with pinion shims which add less than an inch to that. My body is about 4" off frame. That puts my running boards about 5.5" off ground. Stock s10 leafs nothing diff there. I'm working on a bagged 49' right now, I'm 3.5" off frame. The s10 frame dips down a little up where the front vs back mounts would be, so my measurement is off the front mounts.

Let me know if you need any more help. you can pm me or email etc.

Re: 51' 3100 build in PA New to Site

AD51, thanks man, you got a thread or pics? my 51' was my first ever build. I knew nothing diving into. I never changed my own brakes prior. So it was all new to me. Had no tools, hardly anywhere to work on it, luckily my neighbor let me use his garage until I finally got mine cleaned out. Would drive 100 miles and work on it all weekend, then drive back to pittsburgh. Still do the same now. But moral of it is, if you got the desire to build and drive it good for you. Wish more people had the drive in them. Not much more satisfaction than saving these oldies from their graves. I got a little deep with it as I have 13 cars and trucks from the late 40's-50's. Most need lots of work, but atleast I have them in a safe place. Now if I can just juggle my money and get roofs over every one of them. Glad you enjoy my thread.

Thanks man! That helps a tremendous amount. I am sure I'll be buggin a bunch. Here are some shots of my truck with the axle and next to the frame. I have a rear disc axle from a 4x4 to go with it.

6-14 Got another truck hot off the northwest. but..... It's not mine, but....I'm the one building it so its cool. I'll get on this next year along with bouncing around on a couple of my other trucks. This year I got the 49' to finish and my buddies 54' panel that is coming in next weekend. Had the 51' out of some pics with her. I still want a pic of all my AD truck and ones I'm working on, but its gonna be tough cause there are alot of them to line up.

Anyway, the patina is staying, shooting for some crazy hp with an LS turbo or two!!! (be a learning experience). Ford 9", maybe a scott's IFS , lowered and coil overs in back, reinforced frame and the list goes on.
