Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
That’s a lot of clever stuff you get up to.

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Well, I don't know, anyone else would have done it when rebuilding the differential,
you had a picture on your site with the winding path to reach your goal, I guess I am the same, but I appreciate what you say, thank you. |
Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
I really like your build Harald, even with the difficulties!

Aaahhh yes. I am sure we all could add our names in in place of the Grizz part. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds Quote:
Harald, being in Germany, like many of us outside the USA have added difficulty in progressing builds. But it’s also inspiring to see plans being made and executed. |

Thanks.
That's exactly what I meant. Today was a test drive that took us to the Harz National Park. In one of the pictures in the background you can see the "Brocken", our highest elevation in northern Germany at 1142.2m, which was a symbol of the division of Germany and was a restricted area for a long time, as the Sowjets had listening and observation stations on the summit. All history, we are allowed to go back up the mountain. We had a small local treat at the Oker Dam, the truck now drives as it should without vibrations and noises from the rear axle. It was a nice trip. |

We were in Finofurt again for Race61,
it was another great weekend and the truck ran perfectly again. Here are a few pictures and a video of the area flying over. At the beginning you can see many solar panels. https://youtu.be/GO8U4LnU4X8?si=0Fe43CEnb_YaAu7J |
Re: A '62 has to get back on the road

There is nothing new with the truck, it runs fantastically and we want to drive to Denmark on the North Sea for two weeks.
Work is currently being done on the Model A, various rust spots were worked on, the two wheel houses and the rear subframe rails, a Volvo M40 4-speed gearbox is also being installed, someone has been found who can make the adapter parts. |

We took a long weekend trip to Denmark, with a stopover at Lake Plön,
which lies between Lübeck and Kiel. In Denmark, on the island of Römö, a storm awaited us. Luckily, we were able to take refuge in a camping cabin, but in the meantime it was nice and we were able to go to the beach, which was not possible before. |
Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
That looks like a fun time out on the beach!

Today I installed a Volvo M40 4-speed gearbox in the Model A
to see if the conversion kit would fit, it sits well in the frame and the torque tube can be kept. Everything still needs to be fitted neatly so that it is perfect. That's a good thing. |
Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
Nice.

I've had the C10 back on the road for a week now,
the oil and filter have been changed, the front axle and drive shaft have been lubricated, it was still very frosty in the morning and the Windows were frozen over, but the truck always started at the turn of the key, the heating keeps it nice and warm. What more could you want, life is good. Greetings Harald |

Life is indeed Good. I have started cleaning up my firewall as a first step in gaining confidence and getting back into this build. Maybe I will post your comments next year for my truck. |
