Thanks for the props on the paint! Joe (joe231) picked up a 91 suburban last weekend that had a fresh tbi 350 so now I have an engine for it and the trans guy told me yesterday that he should have the transmission built next week. I have to pull the column out of the burb for the crew since a dumb arse theif smashed the column for me... I'm hoping to have it running pretty soon. Hey John the 62 hasn't been forgotten just on the side burner at the moment  Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build
That pic you sent me must have got you fired up.
|
Re: My 93 Crewcab Build
Yeah and didnt help the fact we were talking about lowering kits yesterday
|
Re: My 93 Crewcab Build
Put the engine on the stand and was going to originally just change the intake gaskets but got the intake off and saw that it had some cheesy gaskets on it then saw a corner of the head gaskets and they were the same way... so i have a complete gasket set so im going to pull the heads and just re gasket the whole thing that way i know i wont have any problems in that way later.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

63-72 are almost identical, also the 73-up crossmember will work on your '64, and we just happen to have a stock 73-up crossmember complete |
Re: My 93 Crewcab Build
Got the engine all tore down and it seems that the people before never changed the oil and ran without an air cleaner for a while.... everything has a gritty feel to it but there isnt anything really out of the ordinary. Going to take it to the machine shop and change the seals and hone the cylinders a bit today and clean it all up and see how it looks then.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build
It should be ok just a pain in the arse to take it all apart and clean it out really good just because someone didn't take care of it but oh well least I know it will be good to go after this.
