anyways

I have my motor at my buddys shop and after I had to work half a day Friday, this is the motor as of now! broke two bolts off on the oil pan, got mad an changed all the oil pan bolts out! 3 power steering bolts where to long, it was a long day of modifying/ changing bolts out! im glad I got a small tool box full of grade 8 bolts in all sizes and lengths that I would need for this truck!

i'll get the transmission cleaned and painted today!! then put them together and put them back in my truck tomorrow!!

Just caught up on your build Chad, took a while(23 pages). You're really doing a great job, keep up the good work! Truck is really coming out great! I know how hard it is to try to keep the motivation going especially when life keeps getting involved, but amid all obstacles you're doing it, keep at it! You'll get there!

well here is the motor as of today I made a bracket for the trans dipstick copied the same teardrop shape, but I had to paint it first will take a pic of it next weekend!! got the radiator mounted, rad. hoses on ( had to notch frame for the bottom hose), got the shotgun intake on, painted the butterflies to match motor!! then I just sat in the chair and stared at the motor, my dad asked what I was doing? I told him day dreaming, lol!!!

i'm hoping next weekend I can get my braided hydro boost hoses on, spark plugs and wires on, fuel pump on, coil on ( been thinking of putting it in the cab) run the wires thru the firewall to not have so much stuff on the firewall! got to install my kickdown cable and gas pedal cable, I still got to see if I can have my trans dipstick where I want it and still have the heater box mounted! they sent me the wrong oil dipstick it wont go in the block, hole in the block is a lil smaller then the shaft, but anyways we will see what happens, I still got to go to clems party

this is the bracket I bent up to mount the trans dipstick off the firewall enough to fill it and be able to use it to! I also had to grind the oil dipstick down a lil to fit, got it installed too! also got my fuel pump installed! I did a lil work on the truck sunday I started to strip my driver door down then stopped when I found a lot of bondo! So I stopped and I think i'm going to look for another driver door, its going to be to much work to try and fix, I forgot to take a pic of the door and the oil dipstick installed!

Dude!
The motor is lookin sweet!
I'm sure that you can hardly wait to hear it purrrrrr!
I know how anxious that I am to hear mine fire-up, and it makes me crazy with anticipation!...So I feel your pain!
It is really hard to stay focused on other items with a fresh motor staring you in the face!!!...Also why I stored mine in a separate area, because I was gettin side-tracked when doing bodywork
Keep on it!

ok, here are my doors! the passenger door can be fixed pretty easy I think compared to the drivers door! lower patch and a lil hammer and dolly work to the passenger side, the driver side will take a whole skin ( got one from a forum member awhile back) nobby I think was the member! i'm starting to think everyone in the 80's bondo everything, lol!! anyways heres the doors and a pic of the patch to fix the passenger side!

first set of pics are the driver side door

thanks T.J., the 'WOW' factor on the motor was what I was going for! I seen a couple people doing the c50/60 grille, but I still have my aluminum grille that don't have any dents too! so that leaves me three options for the grille, kind of like what ever mood I'm in!!
