Making a larger transportation chest for my carving tools. The one I have ran out of room. The new one will be ~50% larger. It'll hold about 12 more knives and 40 more chisels, as I made sure to provide expansion space. Funny thing, that's what I thought when I built the last one. I think that this will be the limit, though. I cut out the drawer slides and sanded them into submission today. Friday was spent cutting out the carcass and drawer parts. Saturday was feet up after CostCo because I overdid the standing and walking around on Friday. Feet were

My hope is one day they will be at least semi conscious of others around them and willing to help when the right situations arise. My parents worked to teach me similarly. I hope it will carry over. The are only 4 and 6 right now so hopefully a consistent early start will help reinforce it. I get them to help me bring wood into the house and other outdoor work as much as possible too, they seem to enjoy that more than cleaning inside the house:lol:

I relearned how to ice skate after a 40 year absence from the ice. That’s my 4yo daughter and she said “come on dad I’ll teach you how to skate” and took my hand.

That would be me on skates. When I was young we skated ponds and lakes all over. The day came the we no longer get ice we can trust, or is very rare. I never cared to skate in a rink

Took down the ground level exterior Xmas decorations and lights. I'll wait till it's warmer to get the lift and get the rest taken down. I put up about 15k light bulbs this year so I've still got a long ways to go before I'm finished!!

I just unplugged mine yesterday. Took some down. I like to leave them lit till about a week after New Years. My youngest's birthday is Jan 2nd, plus I just hate to see them go. I usually get the high lights when winter breaks. Sometimes when it snows I'll plug them in

For the most part I’ve been gone from there since 2008, there was a 3ish year stint when I was there again 2010-2013 or so. I’ve been here in New Mexico the remainder of the time. It will always be home, I try and get back at least once a year. I’m the only one in my family who has left the area for good so far. The Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah Valley will always hold a special place inside me. It’s grown so much over the last 25 years that I recognize less and less when I go back. I can remember 7 being one lane in each direction from Round Hill to Leesburg believe it or not. When I was a kid my dad and I used to hunt all the land around Round Hill which is all subdivisions now. Crazy how things change.
If you spent a lot of time in Centreville I’m sure you understand, it used to be about as country as Purcellville did.

I bought a cord of wood and the guys were unloading it and my 9 y/o grandson went out to help. No one asked him to. He just did it and boy could that kid carry/stack wood. The guys delivering the wood were impressed. I was proud of him.

Went to Home Depot for shelving and some pots for plants . Ended up buying a Toro front wheel drive mower . Had too originally 359 75% off with an additional 25% off . Ended up paying $67.31 . I looked it over never was gassed up and oil not in it yet . Checked the underside and it’s never been used

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

The guy who used to own the place behind us and lived out of state brought up a self-propelled mower for me to do his yard while he was gone most of the time.

That thing was worthless because it wanted to go too fast so that you had to mow every three days or it wouldn't cut. When you disengaged the drive then you could hardly push it and it was hell to pull backwards when you had a dead end to mow. When I got my riding mower I told him that he was paying for me to use that or else I wasn't doing it.

I hope you have better luck :)

Rolls pretty easy . Has variable drive so it says but I'm going to use just to trim. Would take a couple of days to mow the lawn here with a walk behind . Takes 6 hours with a 52 inch riding tractor.

I have thought about purchasing one to help me up and down the ditches but I'm afraid it might pull me along faster than I want to go. ;)

I fixed a gas leak on my mower. Every time I cut the grass the mower would stink up the garage (which is also my clubhouse). The float bowl was leaking. Then I used it to move nine transmissions from under my house, and a bunch of other miscellaneous parts.

Making yet another chest for my carving tools, for the "final configuration". I got the slides put in for two of the drawers. In between time, I finally got ahold of the people who are going to repair my dishwasher. I'm not real happy about the time spent on hold.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Thanks Larry. I try, I fail mostly but I do try. Me the woman and the kids went for a drive in the hills today to kill some time in the afternoon. We went walking while we were out there for a little bit before it got too cold. The wind was blowing pretty good so it didn’t take to long. The kids collected some more rocks for there collections... give it a week and they won’t realize that there collection is out in the driveway with there other coleections:lol:

Normally on sundays we try to spend as much of the day together as possible because it’s the only day all 4 of us arent distracted with a million other things going on. Normally it goes pretty decent. After our drive/walk we went to DQ for some ice cream.

We went to Carl JRs and picked up biscuits and gravy with tots and OJ for 3 and stopped by my Mother in Laws to help get her on to her new amazon fire book reader. After visiting for a bit we went back to the house and I took down the rest of my Christmas lights, switched out my tires on the Blazer. I checked in on football playoffs from time to time and updated the taillights on the '35. I don't have them wired in yet, just mounted. The plate needs to move up to it's new home and I can take off the f@rd taillight the PO put on it.:chevy: So technically I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO MY TRUCK ('67)

I got home from work early enough on Friday to go pick up some stone. I got my poured wall backfilled and under slab area spread. Raked leaves off the shed roof above, got those dumped in the woods, worked up some firewood, and took the Christmas lights down. We had above average temperatures this weekend, 50s, so that made it a great weekend to be outside. Too nice to be working down in my cellar, which was the plan for once stone was spread. Oh well, another day

Worked on the 04 Toyota number 3 cylinder misfire code . I like to get my monies worth out of parts  gap is like 120 tho and there are arc marks on the insulator. The plug was also a little loose as you can see by the carbon on the outside of the plug . Changed all four coils too . Think these plugs are originals the toy has 168k on it

We had a hell of a time because the title paperwork for our Toyota didn't come through before the temp tag ran out. The dealer claimed they weren't enforcing expirations because of China Virus but I called the courthouse and they said it was entirely up to the officer out on the road.

You do NOT want to have to talk to those folks if you don't have to! ;)

So I harassed the dealer over and over and finally they emailed me a pdf of an extended temp tag that we could print out at home.

The title work finally arrived at the courthouse. It's really not a big deal after that because it's a little bitty county.

Oh, I can wish. I bought a 1994 Crownline 225BR. 5.7/Alpha one. One owner from new, with the exception of the last 6 months. Honest solid boat. On a lift in summer, in dry rack storage in winter. Serviced every year. On a 238 trailer. I've never even been invited on a boat like this. I'll be happy when the numbers are on and it's mine. I really love drag/hotrod/daycruiser type boats, but I'm 49 and so is Momma, we have adult kids, and eventually we'll have small persons again (not soon!), so I decided something deeper with a windshield would be better. Momma and I grew up on the water, and I really miss it. I've been hitting it really hard for several years now, and circumstances have put me where I can do this, so we're gonna give it a try. When it gets legal, I'm getting a new cover and an (ahem) upgraded stereo. Eyeing some groovy new style trailer mods to flex my fab skills too. Thanks for asking. Hoping to go to Beaver Lake/Table Rock/Pomme de Terre Lake later this year.

That entirely falls on the dealer. We had temporary tags on my wifes Corvette and the new plates arrived way before the temp's expired. It sounds like the dealer wasn't doing their job and making excuses.
