Was just watching your video on the tail lights, and I don't think you have a ground problem or a loose connection. I believe the issue is not identifying which is the "crossover" wire coming from the turn signal switch. I can't advise how to find the problem, but careful study of a schematic should help track down which wire goes to what at the back of the truck.

The crossover wire is what allows one brake light to work while the blinker flashes on the opposite side. My guess is the "dead" wire you've discovered probably isn't dead, it just has to be connected correctly to make both blinkers and both turn signals work.

Back in the days before internet, or even car manuals at the local library, it took me 12 hours to figure this out when installing a junkyard turn signal setup in my 49 Plymouth coupe. Alrighty so here's a small update. Got the bell housing painted. Another thing checked off the list. Will get the bell crank, and inspection covers done Sunday sometime. Slowly but surely. :chevy:

that motor looks great and should push you along very nicely. and the 5-speed overdrive... thats all you need.

Yeehaw!! All my suspension parts came in today! :bann:

Upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm shafts and bushings, control arm shaft u-bolts, front and rear coil springs, coil spring retainer cups, front and rear shocks, axle to trailing arm u-bolts, rear stabilizer and rear trailing arm bushing kits, inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod adjusting sleeves, idler and pitman arms. Not much left on the list as far as my rolling chassie goes. Will be ordering more parts this week end. :metal:

some one been saving them pennies!!! im sure the bill was nice and "FAT" yet the return is nicer when you get the parts...

$750 for it all. lol But yeah...once all the parts arrived it was worth it.
