Re: my 64

Cant waite to see this truck all one color. I thought about painting my 63 Stepside that color, Its kind of growing on me. I did all the highlites on that truck in gloss black and I was thinking either Your Color or a bright blue metalic. Either way sorry to hear about all the rain. Here in Oregon that is just a natural occurance for about 6 months. Everytime I think about finishing my Sons 64 ShortWide and how its going to be rained on it makes me slow down the Resto Process. Looking Foreward to seeing more pictures.

Yeah the 70's were great. Bought our first house for $28,500. Our house payment was $230.00 a month. I bought a new 70 Challenger, then bought a new 73 Gran Torino. We had 2 kids buy 1975. We couldn't save any money, but I built Baja Bugs on the side for extra money to build my own cars. It was tough, but we did OK, and had fun too. If you know what I mean. :smoke: But you know I think this is the best of times right now. Take advantage of it. :metal:

Re: my 64

On what occasion did you take those pictures?
Found On Road Dead
Fixed Or Repaired Daily

Kidding! Nice looking truck. Some of those F150s are indestructable.

jgh64pkup 10-20-2009 07:22 PM

Re: my 64

it was too good to be true it either has a rod knock wrist pin slap or something in the valvetrain
i dont know the difference (not much experience) but to me it sounds like a lifter(5.4l dont have lifters SOHC)
it sounds just like a lifter would be on a pushrod engine
maybe bent valve?
i dont know!!!

Strodder 10-20-2009 07:40 PM

Re: my 64

I don't care what you do to it. It's still a F*RD. :sexy::hc: It does look really clean though.

If it's anything serious I would put a junk yard motor in it. There's a lot of junk Furds out there. The wrecking yard will usually guarantee that the motor is good.

jgh64pkup 10-21-2009 04:36 PM

Re: my 64

this one is a 40000 mile motor that came out of a rolled expedition
i accidentaly hooke up the intake heater line to the vaccum line and got water in it
it sound like a small tick

ruffrida2005 10-21-2009 08:24 PM

Re: my 64

If it was rolled, it could have snapped a rod. if it was still running when it rolled, I cant remember what it's called. I think it's hydro lock, or something like that, where it doesn't pick up any oil.
