Re: AD Truck Project
Well any more progress!?!?!!??

Re: AD Truck Project
I gotta pay for the "progress" first lol.

Re: AD Truck Project
We got most of the old shop moved out to the shop mom had built. I have some major garage envy.
I tried to gather up all the parts for my dad 52 sedan so we could know what we have and what we may need down the road. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Sweet! I bet that shop is really nice too. |
Re: AD Truck Project
It is nice, like 30 x 40 with a wide tall door.
I wish I had it, I got hail damage on my crew cab last night. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Nice
Not so nice on the crew.. thats ok we can handle it. |
Re: AD Truck Project
How hard is it to prep mirrors, handles and front bumper cover for color matching?
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Not bad at all really its the primering a million times and sanding them smooth is what sucks
I did the whole inside of a Subaru WRX and painted the inside to match the car. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Things have been busy so there has been no more progress. But I will let the cat out of the bag about previous progress. With the help of Scott I got a running 94 gmc tbi 350, trans, harness, ecu, etc that will be going in the 52.

Re: AD Truck Project
those always look like Medusa to me, I'm to old to figure all that out, just give me a fuel line and hot wire to the coil! Should be a nice upgrade, I am thinking about an aftermarket FI in the long future for mine.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I wanted fuel injection, because I want to daily drive this truck and maybe hit up some small shows around the state. I looked at the the holley efi system and for the much less I got my whole drivetrain. It will be some work, but I am using the whole harness out of the truck. I need to stop doing other hobbies and get the frame buttoned up and start on the drivetrain.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
We need to get measurements on the air box to see if it will set under your dash enough to use the heater and Ac stuff also.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Sunday, I am hoping to make some time and see what it will take to remove the bed off the truck. I got the daily driver insurance stuff taken care of and tomorrow the house gets inspected after the hail storm.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Sweet ! TBI is great for reliable cruizin'. Should be pretty quick in that old lightweight truck too, much lighter than my 93 anyway. I just went over 200k on my '93 GMC. 75mph 50 miles a day.....
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I worked yesterday on removing the bed. It is amazing how so few bolts can take up so much time. I thought I had them all removed but I could not get the bed to come off. So, either I have missed some more bolts or maybe the bed sills are rusted to the frame. Not real sure.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Ive got a transmount, motor mounts, and a step notch kit enroute. I am going to make another attempt at getting the bed off on Sunday.
I keep day dreaming about some c-57 coys, 17x7's and 17 or 18x8's. I probably should stick with the original plan of running the cutlass wheels for now. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Dude but Coys would be soooo cool!!!!
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I will probably photoshop them on the truck to fuel the fire.

Re: AD Truck Project
I received my step notch, and motor mounts yesterday. I have a couple other things that should be here in 7-10 days. When they arrive, there will be pics.

Re: AD Truck Project
Thanks. I am pretty pleased with them. They are 17x7's and 18x8's. I need to save up for some tires now lol.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Love the wheels Billy!! I feel you on saving for tires mine are going to cost me about a grand, ouch! great progress. let me know if you ever need a hand moving your bed or anything (or eating bbq;)). Later

My neighbor came over while I was working a few weeks back and homed in on two bolts I had missed. I took care of those and then we lifted off the bed and put it in the backyard on saw horses. I am getting tires today, pics later. I am going to try and make some progress this weekend while it is cooler than 112 and maybe hit up a car show at Coits. Thanks as always to Scott for the pestering, I mean, motivating me to keep working. There has been many times I have lost interest for one reason or another and he has kept me on track. He is also really good at finding every single driving AD truck in the OKC metro and sending me pics of them on the road lol. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Looks like some really nice wheels! Good progress. Hangin there and you'll be in one of those local trucks driving around.

Re: AD Truck Project
I was about to convert my crew cab to the 06 hood and grill but came to my senses and decided to put that effort into this truck instead.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
My battery was too low to use flash, so this is the best I could do.

Re: AD Truck Project
Yeah that looks nice! You got the right amount of rubber on there, they fit the truck very well. How about a daytime pic with them on the truck :truck:
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I will work on that after work. I am going to try and get the rears on. Also I want a pic of the front laid out.
