Great build. Just read all the way through, and you busted getting this thing together (both time wise and leg wise it looked like haha). Super cool build man!

Finally got around to straightening and gusseting my upper control arm mounts. It took a shim or 2.....but it's driving straight and not eating tires now.
|
Re: 72 Suburban Build
that's a lot of shims bro!! Have you thought of using washers instead of shims? I think that way no chance of them moving or coming out.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Run some safety wire through the tab holes!

Finally getting around to sealing the back. Made some panels today (eventually going to put speakers in them) amd sealed all of the gaps. Going to cover the entire rear with dynamat and carpet it tomorrow. My flame thrower setup came in today too. That'll be Friday's fun!

This should quiet the inside down quite a bit.
|
Re: 72 Suburban Build
That should make a big difference. Is that Dynamat or another brand?

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Just made it through the thread, I really like the end result.. Making me think about some additional mods to mine a bit more...

Got to carpeting today. Still need to finish trimming the diamond plate and paint it (I'm going to mount it pretty much where it's sitting in the picture to hold the carpet edge down and make the end look clean) but I'm pretty happy with how well it's turning out.

Some updates....
Drove the Burb to work this week. There's no better radio station than a big block+gear drive+flowmasters. Also...this 66 Lincoln happened to follow me home a few weeks ago and now lives here....HAHAHA!!! Plan for it is to lay it on the ground and put some detroit steel wheels on it. |
Re: 72 Suburban Build
Well that is cool. Congrat's!
|
Re: 72 Suburban Build
Devious Customs makes great kits to lay your Lincoln flat on the ground. Check them out.
