It's always a struggle to work in a small garage. My garage is 12X20. Rims look cool are you using them when it's done?

No these rims are very crappy. The offset is wrong. The center caps wont fit on the front rims due to the hubs sticking out. They might look OK in pics but trust me they are junk....

OK more progress to report. My SS 2.5 gallon tanks showed up this afternoon. I picked them up off of eBay. After a couple minutes looking it over I decided I could use a factory hole in the frame for a pass through for the lead hose coming off of the compressor. The compressors are Viair twin packs that I picked up cheap a few weeks back.

I even made good use of some Accuair decals that I got for free a few weeks back and stuck them on my eBay tanks to make them look fancy..

Looks great. 2 small tanks seems to be easier to place than one big one.

Yes, on my 48 I used 2 small tanks as well.

I received all of my various fittings and fuel line from Summit Racing. The idea will be to run the black mesh/rubber hose from the fuel tank up the inside of the notch to the fuel filter. From the filter forward I will go with steel gas line and then back to rubber hose from the frame rail to the fuel rail. All fittings will be black. I purposely mounted the compressor on the passenger side a little higher to provide space for a fuel line to run under it. There is more room under it than it looks in the picture.

I can't say enough good things about the Summit hose and fittings. I have used braided SS hose before and I will never use that stuff again. It was a pain to get the hose inside the fittings and I always stuck myself with metal barbs. The stuff from Summit is not cheap (Russell makes a cheaper version blk and blue in color) but I wanted to use Summit hose with Summit fittings. I also did not but any special tools or claps to join the hose and fittings. I did use (2) line wrenches to no mark up the fittings and it went smooth.

A lot of you might be thinking "why is he screwing with fuel delivery at this point". My idea is to try to get major systems complete and checked off. Fuel delivery was one that was easy to complete.

Tomorrow I will purchase one of the last pieces to complete my air suspension. I will be ordering my Accuair valve body.

On my 48 truck I did a poor job of completing all of the fitment of everything prior to paint. Wayne (Parkwood) suggested to me long ago this was the way he does all of his builds. It was great advise. I really like the idea of doing all of this work prior to the frame being painted.

Here are some pics.

Marc, I am glad you went with something similar to the Russell Proclassic line and like it. The Russel is the one I used and its really nice. Your build it coming along great.

Thanks Root. I liked the look of the grey and black better than the gray and blue.....yes, I'm picky at times.

Doug-

I'm sure with your help you aren't too far behind. Yes, I can list the fittings. Someone else asked as well. I should see if I can screen shoot my Summit wish list...That would save some re-typing.

Well I have been working on the Suburban. I decided as much of a pain as it is to put the body back on the frame that it would be best to continue the mock up process. I found myself staring at the frame wondering it this will fit here or if that will fit there. Putting the body back on did prop beneficial to figure out where stuff will fit.

I hade to clearance the flange of the rear wheel tubs to clear the frame notch. I was surprised that the notch didn't stick up any higher then it does. I was able to clearance the firewall to clear the brake pedal. I also confirmed that I don't need a tranny tunnel like I thought so that was a pleasant surprise.

Thanks
Marc

To clarify the hole for the brake pedal looks huge but the pedal has a larger mount for the pedal than shown in the pics. I plan to make a small plate that screws to the floor to cover the hole.

I'm heading to Columbus to the Goodguys show this weekend and I'm driving the 48. Looking forward to seeing some people from this site and grabbing some parts for the Suburban.

Thank you...I really wish I would have found 20" for rollers because I can't fit my 13" rotors with big calipers with these ****ty wheels. They look better in pics than in person.

The GG show was a success for many reasons. I decided to drive my 48 this year instead of trailering. Driving is mush more fun. Over 600 miles round trip with no issues. I got to see Bob's (OldNSlow) truck. Man is it nice. The paint turned out great. He has decided to sell it. Oooops did I let that slip.

I did a fair amount of research on wheel and tire sizes for the Suburban.,

I picked up some Delmo LS1 valve cover adapters from Travis or Pro Performance. Travis is great to deal with and he delivered the parts to me at the show and provided a show discount (win/win/win/). I also found a nice set of script valve covers for CHEAP.....Score.

I got to check out and talk with the owner of Delmos latest truck build. It was a very cool truck.

I also picked up the trim piece I needed to fix the one inner trim from the Suburban..

All in all it was 4 days filled with cars and hanging out.

Thanks I appreciate it. I was excited to pick up a few parts for the Suburban and push this build forward. Of 6,000+ cars and trucks we only saw one suburban close to my vision.
