Came home from work this afternoon and did some more sanding inside my box. It as a bit rough inside so we are going to smooth and repaint as a welcome home to the new wood bed. Here is one inner bedside I am working on.

i replaced the rubber fuel lines on my truck
I used Gojo lanolin hand cleaner on all the rubber bits under my truck. I scraped about four lbs of grease sand and rocks off of my trucks frame and drivetrain. I sucked about 2 gallons of bad gas out of my trucks fuel tank |

Cleaned up the more of the grime today. This is the third time around with the scraper, p washer and gunk degreaser.
I almost feel bad about washing away the years of frame saving greasy tar like goop. Lying in the wet greasy grass too blast the underneath isn't any fun. But I did reveal a Chelsea plate on the pto. Think im Almost there MAYBE one more time around. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I ordered a factory style tach conversion for the instrument cluster, a new bezel, a door jamb switch harness, courtesy light harness, a new engine harness with HEI support built in and a new temp sending sensor. The temp gauge in my cluster has never really read the temps quite right, always reads low. I think this is because the sending unit is for a 1976 engine/truck (came with the sb400 I installed). I'm guessing 1976 gauges were calibrated differently. I hope to be buying new bucket seats soon as well.

Put some advanced safety feature in the truck. Out with the bench seat in with the power Sebring Convertible seats($50 half off sale at the junkyard). I also picked up a f-250 jumpseat off craigslist for $40 that needs to go in. I cant find a pic of the bench but oh well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I am almost finished with my Electric Vacuum Pump install, just have to wire up the relay and test it out..... I also finished wiring up the electric power window crank switches on the modded window regulators, (I had to move the crank stub forward 3/4" forward to align with the door panel holes) since I was at it, I cleaned up the wiring and drilled the holes to pass the wiring through the hinge pillar and door, now to install some conduits, rubber or what ever works, I think the braided steel ones I made are too rigid, they walk the rubber grommets out of the holes I cut, oh well, something that won't be seen too much any way.
I also finished my Van tilt steering column the other day, and once I get my power windows in, I can finish up the weather strips/vent windows, etc.. and start driving this bad boy! Pictures to follow! Have a good one! Ben :metal: |
