Here is one of my brother's 72 Cheyenne 1/2 ton at the Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, Tx. Sorry it is just a cell phone pic. The truck was purchased new by our uncle at A.J. Foyt Chevrolet. (It still has the dealer bumper on the rear.) It has a 400 BB, TH400, A/C, PS, PB, tilt wheel, and bedside tool box from the factory. It still has the original seat cover, but it needs replacing. We added a tach dash when it was restored. I got it at the old Rosanky swap meet one year for $50 (!) and gave it to him for his birthday. My uncle ran it for years on propane, and the engine has never been apart, with over 100k miles. The truck has coil springs in the rear, a sawy bar and other typical options. My brother had to take apart three beds to make this good one. The bed sides were fine, but our uncle had installed a camper shell back in the 70's laid a piece of carpet inside and the floor rusted out. It took another donor to fix the tool box opening. We have a few pictures when it was new pulling his boat. I will see if I can get my bro to scan them so I can post them here.

I told my brother it is a shame the back end got caught in that black hole, or it may just be his camera skills.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

The truck is triple black, and he still has the oiginal hub caps. He usually runs a set of later models rallys. He even had a set of 96 Impala SS 17's on it for a while. Our uncle bought this truck off the lot, it was not ordered. He said he wanted to order a swb truck with red buckets, but he said they made a deal at the end of the year, and it wsa too late to order a 72, it would have been a 73, and he didn't like the looks of them. My brother is going to be 50 next October. I told him it still has the "old man vibe" with the white toolbox. All of the upper and lower side trim on the truck is original or has been replaced with other original trucks. For years now, every time one of us would go to a swap meet, we would pick up bundles of the stuff to piece together a nice set. It took a while, but he has less than $50 in all of it. When he first got it going after the resto, he installed a new vinyl woodgrain on the tailgate band, but left the letters off because he was missing a couple thath had fallen off over the years. I ran across a rusted out Cheyenne Super gate that I got for the stainless handle cover and gave him the letters he needed. They are not perfect, but are original metal parts that cleaned up nicely.

The panel looks to be a standard 3 gauge panel which you can get anywhere. I can't see who makes the gauges but there are several companies that offer white face gauges.

Believe it or not, both were imported recently from the USA, as the laws here regarding classic cars changed after a long battle. You couldn't do that before...
