Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Here are a few pics of my 88 crew cab. It is a Wrangler Corporation conversion truck. It started life as a 2 wheel drive dually with a big block, auto trans. It’s in the process of a 4x4 single wheel conversion with a 2002 Cummins diesel and Allison automatic trans. I’m about half way into the build. Look for a build thread to get you up to speed on it in the next week or so.

Yah, it's a sweet truck. I had been looking for a crew cab for years, I wanted a 4x4 but they are all plain jane and most the interiors were junk. Found this one and fell inlove with the interior and custom options. Could not pass it up

I really dig that back seat. Any chance you could snap a few more pics of it for me. Is it custom done?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Don't know if you could call it custom or not. This truck was a western hauler corporation conversion truck, kind of the same things as the regency's. It was sold new off the lot in 88 like this. They were extreamly rare from what I can find. All custom counsels, center and over head with built in raidar detector, brake controller, cb, on board air. Haddley horns, and full toggle switch panel to run all the custom lights. From what I can find on it, it was the most loaded truck of the time with a price tag of over $33k in 88. I bought it with 74k original miles in 2010 for $2k lol. I will take some pics of the rear seat tho. I'll post them in my build thread (88 crew cab 4x4 conversion with cummins/Allison auto) sure the parts can be fabricated

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
When my parents ordered the truck that is now my '88 Centurion conversion, they actually ordered a rear seat that folded into a bed like that. Unfortunately, and I can't remember the reason, it ended up not having that seat when it was delivered.

Dude the rear seat is awesome, now have to locate the manufacturing company...I'm serious. I have a 79 crew 4x4

I am not sure if I have put any pictures of my crew project in this thread lately, or ever?
This is basicly where it is at now. But, I have come to the realisation (after buying a 4x4 Suburban) that I can either have have the crew or the 4x4, but both is not realistic. So ideally, I would like to get a 4x4 crew, or convert mine, but that conversion seems like a lot of work! What to do, what to do... I might end up taking this apart and using all the (brand new) suspension on my 2wd K5, then use the crew specific parts (new FI tanks, driveline, bed, exhaust, etc) on a 4x4 crew? We'll see, it is fun to drive! |
