-1) Go to this link: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=115
-2) Underneath the header on the upper left, click the "New Thread" button
-3) Give the thread a title
-4) Talk about your truck & any upgrades/work you've done to it
-5) Receive praise

i want to give props to chevy72blu for coming up with an under the bench seat woofer box. i "borrowed" his idea.....ok ok ok, i stole it. i just hate thief's...

tried my hand at carpentry the last couple of days and built a box. it fits perfect. i did however cut a few of the angled springs so they would not hit the box. it made the front of the seat higher and stiff. I'm going to cut out a few "springs" today to lower the front....i still have the original wheel (pretty tight between the seat and wheel and thats with no cushion on right now).

second pic shows how i folded up the angled springs to clear the box

third pic shows what i did to attach the springs to the seat frame. this is were i'll cut out a couple "S-springs" to lower the front and still keep the seat stiff enough not to sit on the sub.

i will say i will be the only one driving this guy, the seat adjuster is now OOS.

I love this thread btw. It's the best place to find folks with active builds!

I tack welded the bolts on my headers for the LS swap. I hate trying to use 2 wrenches to tighten up an exhaust pipe...now I have studs!

Got a new set of 22s for free so I thought i'd see how they look. Still not 100% sold on them but for now they'll stay. Also got my air ride set up done in the rear. Now to tackle the front.

Maybe the 22's will be a better fit when aired down, they do stand out right now but covered a bit when dropped may fit better for your liking, still better than the old rims so winning.

Two projects over the last two weeks. I finally got that Vintage Air kit in and I put in a Retro Sound stereo with powered sub, four component speakers and power amp.
Boy is it tight under that dash now, but I finally have have air and nice sound.
I wonder how much I increased the value by doing those two things? Hopefully more than I paid. After all I did the labor myself.

Thank you Acorn for that! Great spot and more than that, thank you for sending this out. I think I'll start a thread for my first time build. :metal:

Here is what I did this past week. Over the course of the past month, I built a custom console. Installed it just last week. I also change the steering wheel from a 1964 Impala wheel to a Grant Steering wheel.

Actually all last week I pulled the front clip to access the heater box, got a leaky core, and yanked the engine trans to correct a vibration I've been fighting for a year. The flex plate has a wobble and the rear of the crank is suspect since I've tried three plates. So the engine is getting a new crank and bearings. The engine is a GM crate and I'm going to call and complain but I'm thinking my words will fall on deaf ears since the engine's been in service for that long.

I am sooooo desparate to find the correct firestone style "split rims" for my 68k20 that I drove all the way to Tucson to get just one. only 35 bucks but well thats what I did.

I swear that the one in the back of my truck isn't a split rim, just based upon the location of the valve stem. But now you've got me wondering. I'll double check that the next time I go outside.

My spare is one. The rest are off a dodge van. Most everybody wants to get rid of them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I would want to be one of those people. Split rims may be period correct, but the danger isn't worth it to me.

got a new fuel sending unit put in last night. nearly started crying in the fetal position in the corner of my garage trying to get my needle correct on the fuel gauge. finally figured out to pull the needle off and just move it to the correct "empty" position. all is good......
