I'm a new meber here, and I just love this thread :)
This is my car, 1966 C10 Suburban, who has been rodded before it came to Norway. It came here in 2008 from Scotchdale, Arizona, and i bought it last summer. The car is a joy to drive with its 454CBB machine and 400 turbomatic gearbox. The suspension and bakes are still original, but I consider to rebuild it to diskbrakes and a 2 way system from a g20 van. The rear axle is still original too, but I'm going to change it to a 10 bolt axle. The big plan is to get it leagal to drive here on norwegian plates. |

A few more pics of my sweet Carry-All :)
I even managed to get a price in a lokal show, since the car is rare here in Norway, and people actually likes the bully-look on it :) I'm keeping the look btw ;) Inside, the doors, roof and dash is patina, the floor in the back is still wood, and all 3 seatroads is fixed with new leather. :) |

I am curious to know as well, rules are a bit more strict outside the US to legally drive a US built auto, it would be great to see some pics of your Burban driving on the road with the other European models.

Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
Here's something different;
This Burb has served, back in the day, as an EMT vehicle in Israel (what is known here as Magen David)- see it in a period photo: http://www.carsforum.co.il/vb/attach...67&d=135972778 Later sold, and was left to rot somewhere in Jerusalem, last year it was rescued and made drive-able again. I took it's photo in May, and it looked like this: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5464/8...31055d14_b.jpg Well, some weeks ago the new owner was finished with its restoration and a ceremony (organized by the local classic cars club) was held upon which the Burb was revealed, together with modern EMTs on site...: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2809/1...2be9a474_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3665/1...67823510_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3744/1...7f04a833_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3671/1...5cdabd1f_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3700/1...2aa032f0_b.jpg Now, a personal note: I have a special relation to this Burb, as it was owned by my Mom's uncle! I was not aware of this at the time, otherwise you would have seen a "my new Burb" thread... and not an EMT restoration but a more modified Burb, something along the lines of this Burb, which was also at the event: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7398/1...79e20178_b.jpg However, I feel that it's very responsible of the current owner to restore the Burb to its service days' looks- it is a part of Israel's past and nowadays, NOBODY thinks about preservation of these vehicles, except private individuals. |

^^^ Very cool! While the outside looks great, I can't help but wonder why there wasn't more attention to detail under the hood. Regardless, I like the fact that it was kept as an ambulance. Think of all the stories that thing could tell if it could talk!

Yes, I also think the engine could have been better displayed... See the interior: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3799/1...42e2df58_b.jpg |
Re: Let's post 60-66 SUBURBAN Only Pictures
Very cool.
I sure think that spare was meant to be mounted under the rear deck...considering the custom rear bumper. I Beautiful, none the less. |

I was looking at it all wrong that other door is to the frt and that spare tire is mounted forward. I was looking at it, thinking automatically that the spare would have been mounted to the back. I guess that the thought may be that if they did get a flat that the s-pare would be a lot more readily available up top if they needed to change a tire in a hurry ron |

Saved this "Creampuff" from the crusher. Sitting 13 years. Came with a strong 327 and uninstalled, rebuilt 400 tranny. Did disc brake conversion with 2 1/2" drop spindles, 2" drop springs in front, 5" in the back. Scored some OG camper special rims 15x8's and wrapped 'em in some 225/75 tires. Now it's time for a ton of body and interior work. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...k/burban-1.jpg
