1969 GMC cabover cab over 5 ton ramp truck tow truck - $3500 (Graham, WA)

Small block V6 engine that is not operational due to starter..

2 speed rear end...

Tilt cab for easy access to the engine

It was originally designed to haul backhoes and tractors...

I just purchased this truck and I am trying to get it going the more money I put into it..... I'm going to eventually have to raise the price

Maybe I could be used for a car hauler or tow truck

I don't have the ramps that go on the tail end

I believe the engine is a 305 with super High torque

The bed is 16 ft long

Perfect vehicle for off-road racing truck transportation

I don't know what the gears are but I talked to the owner and they say that's the truck would go 85 miles per hour with a Tractor on it

I'll be out there during the weekends working on it if you want to take a look sometime

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Engine should be bigger than a 305 in a 7500, if it still has the original.

Really should be a 401. Maybe even a 478.

They had me until I saw the cab-over. Seattle doesn't help either.

You have to open the " manage attachments" box. Then copy the image off Craigslist and paste it to "Upload File from a URL" . This will only accept files below a certain level of quality. So you have to copy the low def version of the photo from Craigslist. Then two at a time upload them to the site. You can do five photos to each post. It won't allow copyrighted photos to post either. Hope that helps.
Here are two from your previous post.

Worth it if only good for parts, but it could be very restorable.

I'm drooling over this barn find, a low mileage, super clean west coast '65 C 80 with Budds and air brakes at a very reasonable price. ( not mine ) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto...381595270.html Can't get over the C80 thing, most were used commercially racking the mileage real quick. Most farm trucks of this vintage are the lesser rated C50 or C 60. I guessing 348 or 409? This needs to go to a good home of a Chevy truck nut.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Cool truck.

Sheet Metal looks great.

Mostly likely a 409. Believe it has to be at least a 348.

Full Instrumentation too. Looks like it has a Tach.

Looks like nice Heavy Front Springs the way it is sitting like that, especially having that heavy engine in there.

Would love to have it too, lol.

Would make a great Roll Back.

Thanks for posting the photos Devin!, still learning the ropes. Most of my experience in trucks is in the '63-'66 era, and this is one of the best non fire 80's I've seen. GVW is not much more than a heavy 60 series, but you get the 18.K rear axle and 7k or 9K front axle. There was a 23K rear and 11k front axle options but these axles were usually only spec'd on heavy duty tractors, which are almost impossible to find in the condition of this 80.

After two months of asking the seller finally sent me engine photos...

Also has Power Steering.

Are you going to try to buy it?

I've tried on and off. He won't budge on the price and it's tough when you can't see them in person. If I've learned anything from Craigslist it's that everything looks much better in pictures than in person.

My attention right now is on this '64 GMC. Body looks solid but, again, the seller won't take the time to send photos of the passenger side of the truck. It's only 150 miles from me so I'm going to try to look at it in the next week or two.

C10 - C90 Bill 11-15-2017 03:08 PM

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Interesting truck, but it's not a '64.

I'm going to say that it's a '62.

By the way, that '65 C-80 is worth every bit of what he is asking for it.

If it were near by me, I'd be bringing it home for sure.

Gypsyman 11-15-2017 03:27 PM

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

I was going by the sellers listing for the model year.

I agree that the C-80 is worth the asking price but (realistically) I still have to factor in $1700+ in transportation to get it here.

If you found the right trucker, you might be able to get a back haul for about $500.

Especially if the owner could help load.

A Drop Deck Trailer would work the best.

Just saying, lol.

Wow, the 80 series Chevrolet is an incredible "barn find". I expect that some washing and buffing would have it looking great! Very rare truck with great options.
