Well, the shop A/C is still acting up, and it is getting hotter in there everyday. I have a buddy that is going to come over and check it out Friday after work, so maybe it will be pleasant in there this weekend to get something done. We are having a family re-union of sorts on July 4th, so my wife won't let me play sick to work on the Blazer then... She's no fun.

BTW Chris, you need to update your "Members met list" ;)

Hey, Steven - Been following along on your build for a long time. Just saw where you went on HRPT with gringoloco. I went as well and pretty sure I parked next to you all in the green 68 at registration in Bowling Green. We hung out and talked for a bit before we headed to Beech Bend. I was in the lil green LS'd 68 GMC that's in my avatar. Ya'll were talking about driving 11 hours or so from LA so i'm thinking that's y'all.

I at least recognize the driver of the green 68 in your pics above. Here's a pic of ya'll's green 68, mine parked next to it and me and my Dad from HRPT in front of my truck. We had a blast! Hope to lay my eyes on the blazer some time in the near future.

Yep, I remember talking to y'all about the trucks. I was the fat guy with the grey goatee (second from the right in that pic). You were right that is the quietest LS ever!

I'm going to have to redeem the Blazer by taking it next year, maybe we'll meet up then.

Haha I remember you specifically. Had no idea that was you. Super nice to meet you!

And thankfully those Borlas have gotten a little louder and developed a pretty good tone. Be glad to meet up any time you’re over this way.

Another one for my list! :D I usually ask folks when I meet them if they’re on the forum, but there’s just sooooooo many cool trucks on HRPT it’s impossible to catch them all. I was the freakishly tall guy drinking all the beer

It's not, I need to call a professional but don't want to pay a weekend call-out fee because it's not life and death, so it will have to wait until I have a week that I am working at home.

This weekend we are taking a trip up to North LA for a buddy's 50th B-day party, so there still won't be any work done on the Blazer. I am ready to get back on it and get it knocked out, though.

I'm not sure if y'all have seen the new DD Gauges, but I have a buyer lined up for my VHX Classic gauges so that I can get the Retrotech gauges on their way... I NEED these since I want something that looks stock to follow my theme for the Blazer and this is exactly what I wanted but they didn't exist when I bought my gauges 5 months ago... I wish they would have let us know that these were coming out when we were on Power Tour, I could've put my order in then...

Those are so sexy. I was building them in my head 2 days before they released. Saw them and was like, yup, nailed it. Now I need $1300...

Re: Ratchet's Blazer - 1970 2wd with Original paint

$1,395.00, unless you know something I don't.

Re: Ratchet's Blazer - 1970 2wd with Original paint

Guess I need $1400

They fixed everything I didn’t like about the AZPro version. Though, I think I could do without the huge displays, or maybe move them to the center instead of the clock. That’s just me being picky, definitely the best thing going right now

Hopefully, they don't come out with something even better in 6 months... I'm getting tired of buying gauges.

Re: Ratchet's Blazer - 1970 2wd with Original paint

Too late Jeremy, they are already ordered. Plus Wade needs my old gauges for his truck. He's been running with the stock oil pressure and temp gauges only on his LS!

If anybody else is wanting some, MCB Matt has an introductory sale going on right now that is hard to beat. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for DD to build some more, but Matt told me that I should have them in by the end of August. Now that I have placed my order, I am "guaranteed a slot on the 2nd build run."

Story of my life... I can get everything else done before then though. The gauges will damn near fall in since most of the wiring is all done already, just have to swap the gauges themselves and the control box.

Well good, that was a quick sale!

They look awesome! I had seen a post on facebook about them and they are making them for the 64-66 as well. Pretty sure its the same company.

I saw the DD Retrotech gauge set at the Columbus Goodguys show - they are sharp and they will be going in my 72 2wd project. I'm glad I waited. I was set on buying the VHX set until these came out and I like them much more. I'm waiting to order until we are closer to that point in case something new comes up before then from DD.

Your Blazer is really coming together - let me know your thoughts on the new gauges when you get them and how the install process goes.

Thanks! I wish these came out before I bought the other ones, but at least I found a buyer quick and won't lose too much money on them. I'm sure everybody that will listen will hear what I think of the new gauges, good or bad.

We got some rain this weekend which helped keep the shop cooler, so I finally got in there and got it cleaned up enough to where my creeper will actually roll again!!! The rain will stick around until at least tomorrow, plus I will actually be working from home this week, so I might actually be able to work in there for a few days.

Last night I finished securing wiring in the frame rails so that I can finally put the gas tank back in. I have it ready to stab in there at 5:01 PM when I get off of work.;) I have decided to not mess with the Holley Sniper until this winter after the Cruisin' Southern Style show in November, when I have time to do it and not miss any more events. I will replace the tank then and add an in-tank pump instead of the external that I had bought for it. So, I'm just putting it back in as it was, but with fresh gas and a better venting setup.

While I was cleaning up this weekend, I went ahead and changed the calendar over to August since I always forget to change it until the month is almost over. I'm pretty sure the woman that made our calendars planned that I was going to need some motivation right about now.:metal:
