Yeah I agree with you, it looked so unfinished with those factory spot welds showing and the metal lapped over each other. I thought it was just me who thought it was ugly.lol

What did you have to do to switch from a 59 to 55 front clip?

You need the entire 55 front clip, fenders, inner fenders, radiator support, upper and lower grill supports, grill, and of course the hood.

Do the fenders bolt right up to the cab?

If you have the complete front end everything will bolt up fine. Oh yeah the hood hinges are different also and the cab hinge holes are different but thats a easy fix.

You will also need to trim about 3" off of the front of the frame rails. Front crossmember and radiator support are same, but the 58 fenders are longer which pushes the bumper and brackets out farther.

Mike just to clarity OrrieG is talking about the frame radiator mounts are the same (the part the radiator supports mounts to). Yes I forgot to mention you have to cut off the front of the frame. I still have my front pieces if you want me to measure how much I cut off.

This was my first time using this product, a buddy of mine told me to try it. I decided to try it on my dash to fill some minor imperfections. I could have used high build primer, but I wanted a reason to try this stuff. I sprayed great really smooth. I had to use a 2.2 tip that's how thick it is, but most of it will end up on the floor but man it's a great product. I liked it so much I did the roof also.

The truck is looking good and thanks for turning me to that primer you are using by Southern Polyurethanes, Inc that stuff is gr8. I won't have to use it on everything just on the stuff I will have to take down to the bare metal. I'm gona get that Slick Sand as well. Think you can spare me some until I get my own?....can ya help a brother out?:lol::lol::lol: I'll bring a can over tomorrow ok, hahaha just kidding:chevy::lol::mm:

That looks very good!!! It looks like it did a very good job filling in the small imperfections. It looks like it did a really nice job around the third light.

BC I told you that you would like SPI epoxy primer. The price is not bad and its great stuff. You never listen to me anyway so I thought I was wasting my time I can't believe you actually tried it. As far as your other butthead question, no my brother you have to get your own. Man stop being stingy and buy what you need to support your own habit. You are like that guy that smokes and never has his own cigarettes.lol

Thanks, by the way it sands great. I ran some 220 across it. Its dry enough to sand in about and hour after 2 wet coats. I cleaned my gun between each coat this stuff sets up fast.

Kim its okay to shoot primer outside you have to block sand it level anyway. When it comes time to shoot color that's a different story.lol

Kabwe, Truck is coming along great. I always used shopline filler primer and wonder if you had ever used that and if there is a difference between that and the slick sand. Is one better than the other? Keep up the great work.

I never used the Shopline primer, I use SPI epoxy and high build primers. But if the shopline filler primer is the same as high build the slicksand has better fill capabilities. The slicksand when use with a 2.2 tip and not reduced is like applying filler through a spray gun.lol It goes on very smooth and sands really easy.

Like I said, I never used shopline, but I have used high build primer and slicksand has more build.

I ordered it on ebay but it came from eastwood. For some reason when I order from eastwood through ebay the shipping cost is lower. Its was like 60 bucks for a gallon. It comes with 4 tubes of harder. I had to do the math to find the mixing ratio.lol I will tell you so you will not have to have a brain cramp.

I mix 16 ounces with half a tube on harder. Please clean your gun between coats because this stuff sets up fast. I applied two wet coats cleaning my gun between each use. I used a 2.2 tip and it sprayed nice, but you can reduce it 15 percent with urethane reducer if you don't have a 2.2 tip.

Kabwe, Thank you. They are in PA and about a hour away. I was at there old place years ago but they moved. The price is really good . The Shopline is around $100 for everything. I will have to get some and try it.
