Took the original wipers and put new blades in them. I didn't realises that they had stainless sleeves that hold the rubber in back then instead of plastic. Keeping these for sure.

Here are some pictures of the original gas tank carpet pieces. I just posted these for someone else so I figured I'd post it here for reference. The strap holding up the carpet is 1" wide, 67 1/4" long and 1/8" thick heavy cardboard. The smaller cardboard backed piece goes around the jack and the larger piece covers the tank. 13 screws mount the rug to the cab and 3 more for the buddy seat brace. Rug still has original manufacturer tag on it as well.

I took out the moulding around My rear view mirror and painted it the same color as my dash pad and inner seat pleats. I took the glass out so when you look into the glass the inner lip is red too. I might paint the light bezel too.

I bought another oil bath air filter so now I have 2. I am going to keep the one I restored an oil bath cleaner and I am going to convert this one to use a paper filter. That way I have a OE filter and I can still keep that look when driving around with the paper filter piece.

Any thoughts on blue with red interior.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Definitely a killer color of blue! Not sure you can go wrong with any color with the red interior, other than maybe green.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
silver, black or white look good with red

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Yeah I think I'll stick with black. Some liked it and some didn't .

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Love all the details and extras you're adding. Going to be a really cool truck, fun to show people all the extra options, and will be comfortable for you to drive.

Thanks. I am having fun with this truck. I love making all these options look somewhat factory and not like add-ons. I painted in the letters this morning. They turned out awesome! !

I separated the lid and mesh retainer today. I am going to make a drop in piece for the base of the air cleaner so it can be used both as an oil bath and a filter cartridge. I will keep both tops. The restored one will remain an oil bath top and on this one I am going to weld a piece inside that works with the original A86CW cartridge..

Well got all the parts today for the cab rebuild again😠. It will be a while before this gets done but now I have all the pieces. This time we'll get it right. Not using the same body shop. That was a bad mistake.

Did some work on my air cleaner. I cut a section out of the base of the paper element air cleaner the same size as the oil bath adapter. I am going to make this removable too so this base could be used with either the paper filter plate or the oil bath plate.

Got the gmc logo thermometer face. Can't believe how accurate this is. I wonder if it reads the same when your driving?
