Nice work man, glad to see the disk brake setup, that will help civilize the old girl.
Now on to future options, you should consider CPP 2/4 drop springs to get her center of gravity down so she will handle a bit better, that combined with the GM front sway bar, a CPP rear sway bar, rear shock relocation kit, and front shock mount reinforcement kit she will drive better than she was ever intended to. If you add Tilt, AC, and a fly-by-wire cruise control from dakota digital you will swear you were driving a truck 30 years newer. |

Im confused about one thing though, if the frame is a 68 why doesnt it have the dimple and why do you need spacers for the power steering box, mine is a 68 and has the dimple from the factory.
Are you sure its not a 67 frame? |

Today was a lazy day. All I did today was install the new E brake cable and sand and paint the pieces around the head lights. I ahve two sets so I painted one set orange and the other black. Maybe later I might get some crome one's. I will see.
Then I started to build my trusses for the roon extention. Got one done. Hurt my back so I stopped untill it means. |

Yeah a Parking brake is the very first thing im going to be doing as soon as we get some nice weather so I can get rid of the blocks thats keeping it from rolling right now LOL

My back feels a lot better now. So Monday I will finshed the trusses for my shop. My cash is a stand still until the end of Feb. Maybe the Easter bunny will come early. My next step is getting the brake lines run to the back of the truck and to each wheel. also the slave cly. on the rear and brakes shoes. My drums will cost $8.00 each to turn. They were new when the previous owner parked the 72. He said he just finshed doing a brake job. But I want new cly. on the rear and on the front new disk calpers.

If the front calipers are frozen when you try and pressurize them dont sweat it you can go down to the auto parts store and exchange them for rebuilt ones for about $20 apiece.

Today I took apart the dash board and I wanted to see what parts I will be in need of. A new dash bezel and a few gages and a circut board. i painted the bezel and i don't like the way it turned out.

Today, I took apart the colum. My shaft got bent when I took the cab off. I am replaceing the shaft. I have one question. Can I use the same colum that came with the truck? It was only for a 2 speed transmission though. I have a three speed. What parts will I need to change it over to a three speed colum? or would it be better to buy another colum?

Today, I put together the front endof the 72 frame. I need a rolling chassis to remove my cab and install it on my 68 frame. I had a pair of 68 ball joints that the Auto Zone would not take back. So I used them. I don't know what I am going to do with the 72 frame at this time. My body guy is coming over some time this week to take a look at the work I need to get done. Also I am using the Mothr-in-law cottage to store my painted parts.

no my wife does not know where in the cottage I am storing these parts. I keep it locked. But, one day she will go in and I will have to pay the piper.

Atleast they are clean and painted, not greasy and rusty, so she doesnt have much to complain about really.
