Eric ultimately put the OEM strips in, but here's a pic to give you an idea of what it would look like with the planks only. I see I'm in the minority here, but I like it :metal:

Thanks for the pictures guys. I'm getting ready to order a full bed wood kit from Mar-K. I'm getting it with the stainless steel bed strips with the hidden fasteners. Should I order red oak or white oak? I think I'm leaning toward white oak.... I also ordered a new AAW wiring harness from boardmember TKORENEK. So the work is progressing....:D.

Quarter sawn white oak is a very pretty wood when used in hard wood floors. Should look good on a truck too.

I'd go with white oak Rob, seems like most kits are red oak. Check out HuggerCSTs', Wynne has white oak in the 70.

Thanks guys. Where's the best place to buy a complete kit? I've been looking at Mar-K, but with shipping it's going to be close to a $1K.

Thanks! I got most of the tubing cut for the bed frame, but I'm going to wait until I get the bed wood in before I start welding it up.

If/when he gets rid of this one I'm sure the Burb will get some attention. We need something to take to CtC '15!

I think it would be too...

The previous owner put that together. If you go to the link in the first post, I think he covers how he did it in detail.

Welcome!

Thanks!

Thanks Al!

Thanks Mike! I'm gonna need a set of SloshTubs for this one....;).

Gracias!!!

Thanks! Those look pretty cool too...:metal:

Thanks Bro!

LOL, I know, I know ! I'm working on it. We're just gathering parts and do the easy stuff to his right now.

C'mon J! I went from 4 projects down to 3.....I thought I was making progress....

We got the front clipped pulled and we'll pull the engine and chassis after Thanksgiving so we can have some more room in the garage. The Dakota Digital VHX gauges came in today from ProPerformance (thanks Travis)!!! I'm thinking about using somewhat w0rn original bezel to help knock the "shiny" off of the gauges. The truck is not going to be repainted for a long time and I think it will match the Patina of the rest of the truck.

Is that a hydraulic clutch master I see? Where did you get the mounting plate?

Thanks! I ordered a complete oak bed kit from Mar-K today. I also got their polished stainless steel hidden fastener kit. Hopefully it will be here before the weekend so I can work on the bed some more this weekend.

Thanks Seth. I appreciate all of the information you've given me on the bed frame design. Hopefully I will be able to start welding it all together this weekend.

I'm thinking about mounting this in the bed floor for the gas filler:

Looks good. I have the same one in the bed of my old beater. So far so good, no leaks!

Sweet. Should make this part of the build pretty simple,.

I threw the bed wood up in there just for mock up and to check my the bed frame. I've got to tweak my bed frame slightly, but it's pretty close. I've been trying to think of a color for the wood. I was thinking about just clearing it, but Buck68 suggested a white wash......:smoke:....I think he might have won the prize .....:metal:.
