I've got a windshield if you need to offload that big bucket of parts!!!
I'd like to see the bobbed rear end with the fleetsides.. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Hey vtblazer, maybe I missed it ...but are you going to run 14" travel rear shocks? If so how are you going to mount them?
Is there and upper crossmember/shock mount that you know of? Thanks, |

Sorry Kurt but I've been slackin' a little. Had to go back 3 pages to find my last post and then catch up on my reading. I won't even start in on my kids, grand kids, and yep even great grand kids. Now I feel old. Later.

This build has taken a backseat to the kids & family responsibilities for the time being, with good weather here it's more about spending time with the kids and their interests with the current economy it's more about making sure the bills get paid. With three of your own, I'm guessing maybe your on the same page. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Kurt,
You need an NOS driver door for this project? I'm picking it up next month... when's the next road trip to PA? |

I am doing more work on my truck than I have in years. The funny thing is, I've only spent a few hundred bucks and I've been selling unwanted or un-needed stuff to off set it. Both my girls play softball, one of them is on 3 rosters. My summers have been spent hauling them around for years. My winters are spent hauling the son around for hockey. It seems like it never ends, but then when the season is over, you feel a liitle lost and restless. My oldest just got Academic All-conference today as a junior. The wife just asks whos kid is this. Have fun with the kids. The trucks aren't going anywhere. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
The only thing I've done is strip off the 37's and put on some 42's.

Any real progress, not so much. Lately it's only been about sorting/storing & trying to clean out & clear up garage space. Quote:

Fun is right! Only 25 pages long, rock on bro's!
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Back to the H2's. :chevy:
Swapped the wheels/tires around again, why you ask? Cause the guy who's buying the blue blazer wants the 42's on it. (sale pending) |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
If the blue one goes, will you keep the orange one, or try to sell that one too?

Kurt I dont get it... the orange one is bad a** and clean.... isnt there a challenge? LOL
I looked at another POS one yesterday looks good from 5 ft... the floors are shot but its cheap and has some nice parts found it on CL here... 1500... single wall top and swing away spare... |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

It's more about consolidation really, yes the orange one is amazing but so isn't the bronze one, both are as solid a blazer as I've ever been able to find. So it boils down to a toss up, either would be great build candidates. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I wish I could build em like you Kurt!! No wonder your Julians hero

Don't care...
Can't stand to see it sitting in my garage and not work on it, so I did. Started in on the firewall, got after a couple of the holes that need patching (3 more to go) and began sanding it down for paint. Found a ton of debris in the pass. side cowl, will drill more holes on the bottom for better drainage before I paint. Have two differant name brand drivers side rockers, will decide which one to use when I get to pulling off the existing rocker. Yeah, it was just bad enough to convince me to replace it. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
just curious is there a vizual diff in the rockers??? and I hope you'll speak up on which one fits better..........I bought mine at the local Napa and the fit was fare but then again I didn't care and had nothing to compair them to......they where here in the next day and the panels I didn't use made it easy to return......

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Glad to see ya workin' on it. It'll be the way it should've been from the factory when ya get it done.

One is a Tri-Plus & the other has just enough of the tag worn off so that I can't tell. The humidity is supposed to drop here next week after three weeks of misery, painting the firewall will be on the to-do list. |

humid LMAO the we could fight with the boys down south ......yek..... I guess tueday evening is going to be ther best time this week ...good luck......

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
So let me get this straight you are selling this Blazer (orange one)?

Thing is, I have two rust free tubs and both are up for grabs, which ever one sells first decides the fate of the other. I'm happy building either one but one does have to go. |
