You won't regret it Gary. Nothing like a sunny day and cruisin around in your hard work. What's the point really unless you finish it.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing maiden voyage. Long road...

Hey Chris !

I've been working on it ! Fuel tank is in and all plumbed, new plugs, wires, wire looms, new dist, coil & rotor. Starting to work on the elec fans & controller wiring. All the necessary stuff to hear it run !!! Just haven't posted any pics lately.

I do have a stumbing block coming though, the hardwood flooring for the bedroom is being delivered Wednesday..... :banghead:

Time to get back to the truck ! Test fitted the carpet & seat this weekend. They will have to come back out finish bolting & sealing the trany hump, but all went well. I'm also working on custom fitting the Entropy fan control harnesses, I don't want to coil up the extra wire to the fans, so I'm shortening them and lengthening main power lead.

Interested in seeing what you do with the fan wiring. I am going to be using the same fan controller.

Hey Gary if I remember correctly, you moved you engine forward approx. 2 inches ??
If that is right, what are you using for a throttle cable ?
Mine is in a similar position.

I moved my Big Block forward 2 inches and I am using a 2WD cable. Works perfect.

I had an NOS cable that I believe was a 4x4 cable and it worked fine. The original cable had and S bend in it, this one is straight.

Good things take time. I've had MANY issues come up over the yrs, divorce, health, dating, house projects, you name it. But the truck is always there and when the time is right I get back at it.

Gary, have you mounted your Entropy fan controller yet or decided where you are?

CUSTOM/10 08-23-2016 12:21 PM

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Sorry Jeff, didn't see your post!
Yes I'm part way through the installation ( I was waiting on some Delphi connectors & crimping tool I ordered, and just received ) I'll post some pictures when I'm done.

I mounted the controller on the driver’s side of the radiator support next to the radiator and mounted the fuses next to the controller. This gave me the shortest wire run to the alt ( Least amount of resistance & voltage drop for the fans ) I still had to lengthen the power lead to the alt & I shortened the fan leads. But this way I was able to run the wires for a more custom fit and it kept the controller less conspicuous, but still accessible. The only location on the pass side would have been on the fender and it would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

I'll post up some pics soon.

Any updates? Love this project! Also curious where you purchased your Chevrolet tailgate band? I was looking on the mar-k sight but can seem to find them.

rgreathouse;

Thanks for your compliments, no big up dates lately, just haven't had much time for the truck, problems with my car, house and whatever have kept me from working on it.

I got all my trim through Brothers, and it is Mar-K.

Gary any progress? Truck looks great

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks Jim,

But no, no progress !

Just finished up putting a new tankless hot water heat, new furnace & A/C system in my house, so that has eaten up m time lately. Basically I'm up-dating my house to possibly put it on the market, so the truck has been on the back burner.

Baby steps. Nothing big.
Life just keeps getting in the way. Blew a disc out in my lower back last year and had surgery. Then it's been constant house projects, and my daughter just graduated from LPN nursing program, and I started a new job. So time, money and health have all taken thier turns at putting my truck project on the back burner. I'm still buying parts needed for it, so when the time is right I'll have plenty to do.

Thanks Jim !

My back is doing much better now, but it sure did set me back for a bit, everything fell behind.

I did a few little things on the truck, installed seat belts, rebuilt my vent windows and installed a vapor canister & vent lines. But that's about it.

So it's been a while since any up-dates, it's small but it's progress !
Totally rebuilt my wing windows over this past winter and finally got one installed & the window regulator, rubber/ felt sweeps & glass. Also tried 3 different door gaskets trying to get something that would allow me to shut the doors without slamming them. ( Dodge Dakota push-on, new Precisions mitered push-ons, and soft seal glue-on ) New precision mitered push-on I can't use, I had to slam the door double handed to get them to close ! Dodge Dakota not bad ( and are on it now ). Soft Seal glue on worked great ( Taped on for trial ) If the Dakota ones break in a bit more I'll leave them on.

So here I am once again, home recuperating from surgery ( distal bicep tendon repair ) tore it off the bone. I'm about 4 weeks post surgery and getting board as heck !!! So I'm feeling a bit better, and have all these NOS parts I've been collecting, so what better way to spend some time than putting them on the truck !

was your truck setup for the aluminum trim around the tail lights or did you add it. I'm nervous about drilling holes in my truck after paint to install the trim.

No it wasn’t , the bedsides are new aftermarket and they don’t come predrilled. I gave the body shop the assembly manual and they drilled it. That way they had to do the worrying not me.... lol !

Nice ! Is that Todd's old blazer ?

I'm just getting back to work, was out for two and a half months recuperating from surgery on my arm. I tore the bicep tendon off of my forearm and they had to reattach it.
