Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
ctrow, it was nice meeting you and your dad too..
little progress to report, been working on the hood shocks...fabbed up a lower mount that uses the 2 outboard bolts for the PB hood hinges, then welded a extension piece on the hood hinge arm... it wokred out well, now since i have the driver side made (more like the geomety figured out..) the pass side should go by alot quicker... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P4190043.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P4190044.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P4190045.jpg |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I like the idea of running the fuses out of the side cowl, wiring is going to look very clean.
I was thinking about upgrading my wiper system to a newer model vehicle that is sealed, so you no longer need that wiper cowl drainage system. I was going to start hitting some junkyards and matching windshield sizes and see what I could come up with. Full size BMWs and Mercedes have a very nice structural wiper system that would probably require some minor fabrication...that is if the windshield sizes were similar. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got the hood hinges made and installed, was going to 'hide' them in the wiper cowl area and use some bellcranks and rods to connect everything, but brother talked me into keeping it simple...and this way, it also isnt a maintance nightmare.....also brother and i got the bed installed (the body lines dont line up, due to the bed wood not being installed) but you get the idea of how it"ll look with 22s on there....also threw the grille on there as well...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Very Slick Craftsmanship, did we ever figure out what the dimensions are on the radiator? I was looking at the Howe site and wasn't sure....
Thanks |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
that engine bay idea looks killer man!
not that you need to, but i think if you made 1 more piece to make it flow from the firewall that would make it look that much better! either way, thats a great idea you got there... |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I could not find that filler panel on the Scott's web page? Was that a one off for your truck? Any way it looks great on your truck, keep it up!

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
then i started my attention on the air intake system..since everything looks symetrical under the hood, it made sence to make the tube 'y' off the throttle body, rather then go to one side or the other..also we didnt want the airfilters to be seen or hard to get to (more on this later)...so with all this in mind, i made the 'y', cut holes in the inner fenders, welded a 4" pipe to them to make a bulkhead, then put a 90* boot on there, and made the dual ram air inlets...the placement of the in lets were determinded by a couple of factors, i wanted them to be up high enough that road debris wouldnt get in there, the outlet of the bulkhead going thru the inner fenders, and the structual design of the radiator support... with all that to work off of, the placement was determind to be up high, and to the inboard of the headlights..
here are a few build process pics, the inlets measure 6" across, and 4" wide... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020119.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020120.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020121.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020122.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010103.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010105.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010106.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010107.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010108.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020112.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2010102.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020111.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020116.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020117.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020114.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020115.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020118.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P2020123.jpg |
