haha yah he owed me so thats why it got done. other wise it wouldn't have got done for quite a while, the only thing is, i had to take it to his place to do it.... which was fine with me cause there isn't any room in my garage to do it :)

well my accel coil took a dump, so i replaced it with a stock one i got for free from a buddy since i dont have the cash for a good aftermarket one right now. and since i dont have the stock cover to go along with it, and i like the look of the accel one better, i decided to paint it red instead of leaving it grey.... think i like it alot better red
Attachment 825663

crap..... now i need to either replace, or paint my faded red distributor cap red again or black, hmmmm decisions decisions. :smoke:

need to cut the center piece to make it shorter so it will match the two side pieces

standing back to get an overall look to see if i like it.... which i do  . now i need to attempt to tack it together for now with my crappy flux core welder, so that i can do some more cutting and fitting on it, then i will most likely wait to finish it until i get a better welder :)

thanks lol. i learned a little trick from someone here on the board that i read somewhere, that said to hold the gun farther away so it doesn't burn through as easy when using flux core welders on sheet metal. and im also using the lowest setting on it as well as that trick :smoke: :)

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

have you tried opening the hood with it on there? just make sure it doesnt hit anything before you burn it in!

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

My scoop goes about an inch farther back then the stock hood, using some custom hinges, Mine clears. I think stock hinges would give more clearance.

project 67 sub 11-14-2011 01:51 PM

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

well i have no hinges so technically yes it will hit, but once i figure out what im gonna do as far as that no it should not hit :)

Well guys, their wont be any updates on this thing for a while as i am now working driving a semi-truck, i will be running probably 48 states to start, but im gonna try and get on a dedicated run and do 11 western states. so when i come back to town for some home time this thing needs to go into storage for a while as i need to move and im not gonna pay rent for somewhere im not staying at all of the time lol. once i get caught up on bills and what not the buying of things for it will start to happen again :chevy:

but on a side note, i should be getting rid of my 1970 VW beetle and picking this up...... its a 1990 :gmc2: sierra single cab short bed with a v8. it needs some work but runs and is in overall pretty good shape. it used to be lowered at one time as it has a bolt in c-notch. so it will end up being lowered again. gonna go with a 4"-6" drop as i am getting the stuff to do the front from a friend of mine for basically free as he had an extra front end laying around. so all i will need to buy is the flip kit for the rear. its gonna get a fresh rattle can satin black paint job over the black thats already on it, and it will also end up being all blacked out with no chrome, some different wheels, and smoked taillights and turn signals, and the windows will also be retinted with limo tint. i will also fix the issues that it has and do some exhaust work as well. eventually it may receive a 96 chevy front grille and lights that will be blacked out as well if i change it up :D

so what do you guys think??? :)
