They are ugly, but in a cool way IMO. If that thing wasn't half way across the country, I'd buy it. Haha

A Town Wagon or Town Panel Power Wagon is so cool their ugliness looks good.

More IH 4x4 fun. That is quite the pipe on the roof rack. Wish there were some photos of the inside.

Unimog I don't think this has been mentioned. Pretty much one of the best off road vehicles in the world. Here is a 57 that is ready for a little love.

Another off the beaten path 4x4. I could drive this every day.

1967 Kaiser M35A1 Bobbed Deuce and a Half. Multi Fuel Diesel Engine runs like a top. Oregon Special Interest License Plate which is permanent. PTO Winch, both front and rear axles PTO capable. Tonka Yellow paint, 52" Goodyear tires, lifted and custom reupholstered black seats with carbon fiber look.

The M35 2½-ton cargo truck is a long-lived 2½-ton 6x6 cargo truck initially used by the United States Army and subsequently utilized by many nations around the world. Over time it evolved into a family of specialized vehicles. It would not only inherit the World War II GMC CCKW's famous "Deuce and a Half" nickname but forge its own legacy.

Big 59 Dodge Power Wagon. I think these are one ton models.
1959 Dodge W200 Power Wagon (power giant). Less than 500 ever made, very rare. Big back window and factory PTO winch, 360 4/speed (also have original flat head 230 six cylinder).

Yep, it's a 3/4 ton W200. Here's a one ton from ebag. Note the larger rims, 17.5,? Or 18's?, But a much beefier looking truck. I love these.

I've never heard of Colmans before. I can see driveshafts, so they came after the chain drives

Can sure tell the Colman's were a work truck.

The driveshafts started mixing in while chain drives were still being used. Coleman started building trucks and ended up also doing conversions, such as NAPCO, Marmon-Herrington, Howe, etc

Here's a Ford conversion:

I think it's cool that Marmon-Herrington didn't only convert (mostly) Ford cars and trucks to 4wd, they also did the special body work, etc and created the Ranger (carry all from a panel)

I never commented on that '57 Unimog. WOW '57!! They were advanced off road vehicles even 20-30 years later. Still are. So this one is a former beach patrol unit. Very cool historic vehicle. Looks like a Folbot (kayak) on that restored one

Did I show this? If I showed it twice it's probably because there is nothing interesting or desirable about it

One of the first things I noticed about this was the fuel fill and that lead me to wonder how much fuel it holds? 75 gallons? 100 gallons? 200 gallons?
Then I started thinking about what its operational weight was? Because I'm sure they loaded it with all the tools you could cram in those boxes. And four people. I discounted the camper weight as it was a later add on. So rough guess fully loaded 11,000 lbs.
Wait a minute look at the camper. It goes all the way over the crew cab!!!!!!! It was orginal!!!!???? Yikes better add another 3500 lbs for a loaded camper of that size and age. Had to be an oil company rig as they were the only ones who could afford to keep it filled up.
Truly cool.:metal:

Yeah, heavy, long, and low. Not your ideal formula for the best off road design. I love that thing anyway. Definitely a relic to me. I guess I could afford to run it to the campground less than 10 miles from here, but there's no gas station between us.

I know I could use this!

I think so. That's one thing about Dodge back then, they put a lot of effort into trucks. They not only had 1t 4wds, the 1t trucks were built like a medium duty...such as the '92-up C3500HDs. They were actually ahead of their time with their trucks that seemed outdated

They sure do. I know about those RH drive Jeeps. They were made bt Mitsubishi, I think. They, or whoever it was, bought the design from Willys. Flat fender, like CJ2As, right? So that dealer is in Radford? These are Brazilian. Here ya go, feast your eyes:
