Will do. Saw this little gem at an airport in western Texas. Still in daily use.

Nice '64. Looks like a C-50.

Great to see old trucks still in continuous use as mentioned.

Thank you. I can't wait till its done.

Funny you mention the brochure, I found an original one a little while back and picked it up to go with the truck. I should scan a few pictures out of it and post them.

I need to find out more about the truck shows. I see the pics from those and it makes me want to attend one. Looks like some really neat stuff out there.

By the collection you have listed you could hold your own show. Is that also your Divco in the background in the one picture. Just noticed that...and the vehicles listed in your signature

Jonathan------Noticed the wheel chock in your one left side view. That is standard souvineer along with a dash plaque when you register at a national ATHS show. They're usually branded with the date and location . I have enough to start a decent bonfire with my collection since the late '80s .

special-K 07-01-2015 08:18 AM

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I'd like to have THAT collection! I've been meaning to complain about these. They don't work so good chocking a truck tire. They need to be at least a 4x4. I use 6x6 cut with a wedge. I AM just kidding, though. As it is there's a clear cut forest somewhere, a lumber shortage for the building industry, and it took 2 maxed-out semi loads to haul them to the show. I was thinking about what a pile of lumber it took to make 1,200+

Nice old Mac Close to my house, have talked to the owner he brings it out and parks it by the road each spring so the truckers can smile as they go by.

I hope his tires keep holding air so he can keep up the ritual. I ove them just like this, but I also see one that will some day be a not so hard restoration

Looks to be about a '50 Dodge.

I've never owned one, to drive anyway, but they were cool trucks.

That one looks pretty restorable to me.

Holy Cow....that's awesome.

I sort of always wondered how they changed tires on the big equipment that runs around the rock quarries and such....I guess they use one of these.

This picture reminds me of a truck I drive past every now and again. Its a lonely old 1960 Ford wrecker. Looks like it was driven in to its place near the road and parked some 20 odd years ago. I should snap a pic next time by and post.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yeah you should. I should have stopped today when a passed a farm that had a 67-72 C/50 grain body out. Those old dodges make me smile, like a puppy dog. The '50s was the peak for Dodge trucks.

That snub nose is owned by a guy near me. He and his son are quite the truck collectors. They have a lot of really neat stuff at their place. I was down there looking at parts for another project of mine and that was the truck that peaked my interest the most so I asked if it was ok to walk back and take a few photos. If I remember right, its a low-miler truck and has either a 265 or 283 V8 engine. Looks very complete and very restoreable.

That truck you posted is a Pacific Truck right? I watched a few videos of those on youtube. Pretty neat.

special-K 08-03-2015 09:02 AM

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yep, it's a Pacific. One hella truck right there, ey? That yellow truck is a real stand-out. Even with a V8?? How cool? I'd have to go back and look at the picture, but I think it's a '57, so could be a 283. Either one is just cool. I would restore that all original. It appears to be more like one to "pretty up" than need an actual restoration. She's aged beautifully. I like the fade on the paint and all! Sounds like it's in good hands and won't be turned into a just another goofy pickup truck... I hope

Pretty decent late L-model yet. Some great pictures added. Last Tuesday out on I-70 I saw one sweet truck after the next. I only run about 20 miles, but I must have seen a dozen assorted obviously well put together well cared for owner/operator or small fleet rigs. Not all together and hauling different trailers, but I mostly recall covered wagons and grain haulers, like Timptes. A few Curtain-sides

I wonder if they pulled him and escorted him there because it wouldn't make the turn back to the lot. Anyway, here are some pictures:

It has some sort of V8 in it but I'm unsure what kind as I'm unfamiliar with IH motors (if that's what it is).

i just fell in love! that rod is so badass on so many levels!
