Installed Fatmat, rebuilt and installed steering column and cluster, installed new to me steering wheel and reinstalled carpet and bench seat. Also installed 3 point seat belts. All with my Scottie supervising.

Yesterday I said hi to my truck when I was over at the garage putting new lights and sideboards on a small utility trailer.
Tomorrow I am going to straigten out my garage and see if I can find all the parts I need to put tail lights on the '67 swb stepper. |

Retired the new, but suspect, mech. fuel pump.
Installed the block off plate and electric fuel pump while I wait for the gas tank to come back. A little wiring inside the cab tomorrow, a precautionary fourth blow-out of the lines, and I'll be ready for clean gas to the carb. :metal: |

Yay I can finally say I did something on my truck. Its been too long. So my hood on the back two bolts the material has been tearing away, so I decided to take it off and weld it up. glad to be outside again.

Worked on my Blazer today.....Replaced the shocks,replace the steering gear box, and install a steering stabilizer.

well i finished up my cruise control install today, and it works great...now ole dollor has a/c, power steering, auto trans, 2.76 rear end,rear view mirror with map lights. new seat,carpet,paint, bed wood.white wall tires.and a good am/fm radio....man what else can a guy need...a good old daily driver. here are a few pics

Not much, Gave her a bath, adjusted the idle from 1050ish to 850ish, replaced a couple burned out bulbs for turn signal and license plate light.
tomorrow pulling off cluster and looking for problems with dash lights. Probably painting cluster at same time like above |

took a little drive to check tire pressures and a fill-up ($66 ouch!) - then I removed a mystery toggle switch that was bugging me and it's useless wiring under the hood. I also moved some good wiring into some black wire loom to pretty things up..

pulled the bed and mounted my rear disc brakes with built in emergencies. ground off the original shock mounts and bolted up the rear shock relocators.

Installed the A/C part of the Painless harness. Removed the windshield wiper motor so I can replace it tomorrow. Replaced the small vacuum hoses under the hood along with the hoses under the dash that they attach to. Removed the cheap radio that didn't fit the dash holes correctly. Need to find one that fits. Anyone have any ideas?

A few weeks ago, I pulled the 12 bolt out of my K10 with the intent of cleaning it up, painting it, and installing my 3.73 posi carrier and gears......And then the "might as well"s took over. The brakes were completely trashed, so I figured I might as well swap to rear disks, Found a relatively inexpensive way to do it, but I had to drill out the rotors and axles for different wheel studs. I've always hated the short 7/16" stock wheel studs so I figured I might as well upgrade to bigger 14mm studs. Finally got the caliper brackets welded on today, but now I need to put the truck on the back burner for a little bit so I can swap the motor and tranny in my 64 Nova.

yesterday i picked up the 72 at the shop, filled it up $60 to confirm my gas gauge worked.
swung by the house, got the wife and dog then went for a ride! only got 2 waves, 1 thumbs up this ride. |

This was actually Saturday, but I plugged a vacuum leak tightened some screws down above the float bowl grabbed an exhaust manifold bolt and screwed it in while the manifold was hot and the holes still lined up, then re-tuned the carb for Spring on an actually warm, dry day in NC.
Then I heard there's a chance of snow this coming Sunday :D |

Replaced the charcoal and filter in my vapor canister, put in a new PCV valve and got the thermostatic air cleaner working again. My truck runs best on warm or hot air so I leave the stock system alone and today I figured I'd get it working as well as possible.

Day before I got all the bed floor rails out by cutting all the rusted bolts off and got the TEMP gooseneck plate put in until I can build my hidden plate.
Yesterday I got my electric fan brackets built and the fan mounted and working and got my 6 way light connector mounted in the back bumper. Today...............................nothing cause I have to go help a friend do a PA install at a church and the wife gets off early. |

Yesterday, after i finished wiring the electric fuel pump to the fuse block, installing a secret, anti-theft switch,
and blew out the fuel lines, I got my gas tank back from the "hot tank" man. Today, I attached some "anti-squeek" material around the edges of the gas tank. And I also put the stuff (looks and feels like tar-paper) any place I thought it might contact the cab. Tomorrow, I'll re-install the fuel gauge sending unit and get the tank back in the cab. |

Got the gas tank in...Definitely easier with more than one person. But, alas, it was a solo install.
Got half of the tank cover on (driver's side) , speaker, gas gauge sending unit, and fuel pump wiring done and cleaned up a little, driver's side speaker installed. There's more room for the speaker on the passenger's side, as we all know. So, I won't have to poke holes in the carpet on that side. On the driver's side, there's only clearance for this box the way I set it up in the pics...But the door *does* close with plenty of room. :tms: All-in-all, a good day. Tomorrow, some gas and test for fuel pump and and line leaks |

I installed the tailgate handle bezel today that I got off Amazon (it was missing one when I bought the truck) & gave her a good bath. And later somehow my rears tires started to smoke, melt & leave gooey rubber all down the back road today! :burnout:

More progress! On the bed top/bottom, we tinted the bed liner. I will be doing a wood bed (Show deck) but wanted the protection (plus it looks good lol)

Sweet "turn around" that he gave them back to me four years later, huh? The mechanicals for the belts are about seat-back high bolted securely to the posts. I used radio knobs on the manual winders, although they are properly set up and retract just right. I just didn't have room on the belts (length) or on the floor. Looks okay. Pretty low profile. But understandably, it would absolutely make the "correct" guys cringe. |
