Sanded the primer on the fender cup and shot some Dupli Color on it. Doesn't match but it's down low and doesn't look too bad. After all she's a beater driver! Oh, and I got the left fender hung too.

Did you add some fade to the paint? I used to tell customers that I'm not able to match the old paint because they don't make "fade" to age it.

I am working on that concoction. It takes years of research, driving in the rain, long days in the sun. Opp, better check the oil!:mm::chevy:

Just got back from a test drive after replacing front coils and shorter rear blocks. Ride quality is better but I don't like the look as much. I'm waiting on new hood hinges so I can throw the hood back on and call it done.

plumbed in new PCV line, fuel, and vacuum advance. Looks nice and not just hoses. I found that spark plug ends fit perfect on the PCV to 3/8 tubing. I've done a bit of small tubing work.

I hate to say it but the lowered look is more my taste. I was going to raise mine back up an inch in the front and 2 in the rear, but now I think I'm only going up an inch in the back, it sits too flat, needs more rake.

I'm thinking about shrink wrap on them to make them black and thanks.

I made my windshild washer work.
It turned out to be a lot more work that anticipated, but the cowl really needed a good cleaning out. Now all hoses are new, and the washer works just fine :)

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

So I cruised down to my NAPA store this morn and bought a tube of Permatex Gear Oil sealer to fix a nuisance leak on the differential cover. Back home and jacked the old girl up, removed the old cover, cleaned every thing up,stuck a shop towel in the housing to keep the gear lube from seeping out while I applied the sealer and gasket. Applied the sealer to the housing cover and proceeded to install the bolts. I was on the fifth bolt when I realized I forgot to take the shop towel out! I had to remove the cover, gasket and clean up the big mess. I don't have pics cause I had sealer all over everything and couldn't touch my I phone. I'll try again tomorrow after I get more sealer. This could have been a catastrophe if the dim light in my brain hadn't come on. That's what I did to my truck today.

Good thing the bulb lit before you went for a drive! It would've been much more work after that.
Anyway:
Work done today, hasn't to be done tomorrow.
I always think that, when getting in from the garage after a partiqularly bad day :)

Ramp truck got a aux set of batteries installed and charge off the truck battery. I also installed a 3 gallon air tank with compressor for road side assistance if needed.
I think Ill buy a small box to cover the batteries and store some rigging stuff also. I have the tilt column working on it also. I found out today the bowl on the tilt is aluminum . I used plumbers putty to fill up the holes. I'll give it a couple of days to harden and see how it does sanding it.
I came up with a easy way to keep the bowl from moving also. I took the 2 screws that hold the neutral safety switch and placed longer screws in to hold it in place.

Installed new back up lights that have been sitting on the shelf for years. I rarely drive it at night, so it's not been a big issue. Unfortunately the right side is not working, so I need to investigate.

 I haven't had backup lights on my truck since I bought it. It's not too big of a deal. But, those ditches tend to jump out at me when backing out of the driveway.

Damn, I've really got to do something about that crooked back bumper! I've tried jacking it up by the low side of the bumper with the bolts loose and it still didn't help. I guess the bracket must be bent.

I kicked this 05 Tundra out of the garage about 2 years ago for my 71 project. Wasn't happy to do that. Our seasons are rough and SW exposure. It wouldn't be the only thing I've sacrificed for the money pit for certain......................The Tundra is truck, so counts. Besides, there's a great cab next to it. ;))

Anyway, I rolled the frame into the single bay, which long story short is no longer used. I used to polish the truck every year no excuses, but go figure, today's the first time I hit it in near two years as well.

Happy to see the paint is still good. I swear by Car Pros paint sealant. Been using it 30 years now. Great truck as well. Knock on wood it's only required one repair since new, A/C O-ring $100 installed.
