Tarantulas here in N America have "teeth" pretty much like cartilage. They'd have to gnaw awhile to hurt you. I remember as a kid, one of my friends heard a tapping at the front door. He opened it to find a tarantula at about eye level. Went and got a coffee can and got himself a cool pet.

If the tarantula is big enough to knock on the door and greet you at eye level, you're gonna need something a lot bigger than a coffee can.

I met my wife for lunch today. She had the Jeep. They had an estate sale next to the restaurant. She had to have this rocking horse. No sweat. I'll just put it in the Jeep.

Thanks. It's very old and appears to be hand carved. I would have walked right past it but my better half didn't and the rest is history. Kind of like I wouldn't prefer a yellow car and I have two. She likes yellow. So I guess I do too by default. Gotta keep em happy.

Cool picture from our recent St. Louis trip, and a silly picture of how our dog sleeps when we leave for work.

My tarantula is really kind of boring. She's not exactly the life of the party.

She's never tried to bite me but she does get a little snotty if I'm late on feeding her.

She's female. So I have to expect a certain amount of complaining. Get in line Arachnid. :smoke:

some excitement next door, last Friday,my wife left to walk down to the beach and ran back to the house to get me,the neighbours house was on fire.i roared over in my truck, not knowing if any one was in there or not.the house was burning in one corner so i ripped off the front door but was met with a wall of black smoke, impossible to go in so i called and called, thankfully no one was home but i did hear some pets didn't make it out.several small fire departments arrived but the house which was about 125 years old, didn't last long.the next morning it i went to get my truck as it was blocked in at the end of a dead end road, the remains were still smoldering but burned right to the foundation.the owner was out of town, flying in and being picked up at the airport as her house was burning to the ground.terrible thing to go through,i'm sure. sorry for the sideways pictures??

Saw this Camaro today. Thing is straight. I saw a column shifter which looked like it was in park. I'd fix that rear trim before it flies off. Gonna keep an eye out for it for some more pics.

Awfully nice for a '67! Ya don't see many like that anymore!

Looks like the roof is kind of crunchy under that vinyl.

Yep, saw that also. We all know what happens under there with age. :(

I somehow missed that at first glance, was looking more at paint on the trunk. Gonna make someone a good project car.

I was cleaning the gauges on an old Studebaker dash and noticed the little adjustment arm at the top of the clock. Looks to be something to dial the clock in if it’s running a little slow or fast.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to take the bezels off the rest of the gauges like I did the clock because they seem to be pressed on all the way around the lip. I can’t think of a way to take them apart without ruining them

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

IIRC, setting the clock more than 6 minutes one way or the other would adjust the escapement on the old car clocks. At least on Chevies, which I mostly drove, back then. Not sure what that clock's adjustment means.

This happened next to my buddies work. When the 4 or 5 propane tanks that were stashed inside Bleve'd things got real interesting, quickly. Unfortunately there there was a dog that was tied up inside of the RV that was killed but no one else was hurt.

Sitting under the apple tree and heard some bees. Fun to watch them. Nieces husband brought over a box and some lemongrass smelling stuff. Neat to see the scouts cruise around the box then head back to the clump.

When I was 12 I was camping and got swarmed and stung all over my head and neck after I stepped on a ground hornet nest. That picture gives me goose bumps thinking about it.
