No comment on the rear end (my wife taught me good). Now the round headlight upgrade, I think I'm allowed to say that's a neat deal!

Looking good...chop chop cut weld!

it would be a nice idea to make a rectangle grill insert that looks like the older style 57 truckgrille

These are nice if you like the stock dash but would like to upgrade it - this is NOT their digital kit. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd782.htm

Holy smokies! Let's hear about the rest of the plan dash-wise. Have you sorted it out any? Donor vehicle or home-made?

My opinion only,... a dash from a different vehicle will look out of place with the stock two-tone paint and side trim.
You already have access to a killer fiberglass shop.
Glass up a stock 73-80 dash pad and door panels.
(even the rear side panels and any kind of stereo equipment).
Maybe water transfer a cool design to them or use some flat paint for the interior colors.
Maybe modify the stock bezel beyond belief.
Incorporate an Accuair controller.

Custom,... is making it look like it was built that way from the factory.
Subtle,... is the coolest
Have a theme and stick to it.

Again,... just my opinion.

Great points, we are still in a toss up on the overall look we are going for one option is the classic two tone and then the other one is a much more custom approach....If i do keep it the classic two tone i will retain the factory stuff and follow right along the lines you are talking about !

i like it too i seen pics from those gauges and others they have in there program a while back and was thinking about a set for my truck too if i ever get around to start working on it again
i wonder if someone is allready making a universal cut to fit metal surround / eyebrow for it , that might safe you some time and money making the dash from the ground up

Ok all you frame experts, looking for advice here ! The frame underneath the body hangs down to far so the bottom of the frame has to come off also the frame underneath the body is not a straight shot (it goes straight for a while and then it kicks out to the side quite a bit) So here is what i am looking at doing the 2x4 is a mock up of a 2x4 steel tubing that i will get welded in like in this picture then i will cut off the bottom of the frame and since the frame isnt straight i will get some 3/16 4 inch strap metal and weld to the bottom of the tubing and then trim the outside edge of that off and weld it up solid. Then i will box the front of the frame and the rear of the frame . The notch i will have cut out of 3/16 plate so it wont have any seams on the sides just the tops and bottoms and i will make it overlay the original frame rails for 12 inches or so to add strength ......Someone give me some input does that sound like a good plan ?

Mike, sounds like an excellent way to remove about an 1-1/2" from the bottom of frame and still be very strong. So we should see the new frame by tomorrow, right:lol::lol:...Jim

How about a shot of my ghetto fabulous mock up rear axle and a teaser shot of the stance ! I also had to trim out a little more of the rear floor and remove a set of body mounts to make room for the notch
