Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Well...you sold me, now I wish I had one. :sumo:
If I was going for a trail/wheeling rig, I would definitely go that route. :chevy: Man thins thing will be ready for almost anything when you get done with it! |

That's the idea, building something for 'dual purpose' changes everything. Build it right, build it once. ;) |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Nice parts goin' on there...lots of pics would be nice, so I can have a heads up when I buy one:lol:

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I'll check on the D60 in the yard then and maybe I'll buy the Dodge truck with a D60 in it as well since he only wants like a grand for it, and it runs and drives! Then I'll only need to buy another 4X4, wait, wasn't I getting "rid" of some of my projects?? :) :)

Found two used Wild Daggers for me & the boy, their a 4wd twin motor set up. (used and almost old school)(last couple pics) While surfing found that they now make rock crawlers for RC...had to have one, yep two more trucks under the tree. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...IMG_0017-2.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...IMG_0020-1.jpg And yeah, you can get a 71/72 body for em too. :metal: http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n.../wallpaper.jpg http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/100_2594.jpg All 1/10th scale trucks. The rock crawlers showed up a couple days ago, they're so cool, it was hard not to pull one outta the box and start running it. Last pics here are what the guy had for sale, already ordered new ESC's & more batteries. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Those are cool!! I'm gonna have to get me one of those 71-72 trucks. Have you ever seen a first gen Blazer?
I guess I really don't need another hobby, but what the hell. |

Oh boy Oh boy! I was into competition rock crawling awhile back. Had to scale back on the hobby though. It kinda took over Blazer time, lol. I've since gotten into
AR's and 1911's, they hold their value better, lol. Heres a 2.2 comp crawler I built. It's got all the goods. I even built a axle disconnect to lock the rearend and use the front to pull it around.... If ya got any questions I can pm ya my cell. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
nice toys... im to poor to get into either of those hobbies :(

Naw really, just stuck the thing back into the box, did show the wife when she got home though. Gotta say, we're a sick bunch of puppies with our hobbies and how they draw us in. Sweet crawler J, no intention of going that far, yours is definitely high dollar. I wanted to offer my boy something that he could use his imagination with instead of just full throttle assaults across the yard. I hoping the crawling gets him setting up courses and figuring out angles of attack, departure and the best line to take, along with figuring out when & where gravity's gonna spank him...see where I'm going with this? ;) Happy/happy everybody! :hi2: X-mas 08 |

Still going, 'scuse the huge mess, I was on a mission. :chevy: The 60's torn down and mostly wire brushed 'cept for a few corners/crannies. Still need to do ALL those other parts that came off, then it's another POR party at vtblazer's place. :two: |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Looking good!
I was out last night working a little myself and I noticed how many of those little things that needed to be blasted and painted. I was really hoping the elves might stop in tonight and take care of the smaller parts, but I'm not holding my breath. Good progress Kurt. |

|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I've heard people say 550 (complete rotor to rotor) but that sounds like a lot to me but maybe it does??
