those triangle wedges on 60-63 will also give you fits.
you can use them to move the door around quite a bit. the striker plate will adjust a little bit, the nuts are on a captive plate behind the pillar, I had to really soak down the ones on my crew cab to get them to break loose, since they were pretty much rusted in place. you can also get the bottom rear corner to kick in by loosening the top (door, not body) hinge bolts this picture kind of shows the backside of the striker plate, so you have an idea of what will move. I had to do all 3 adjustments on the doors of my crew to get them to line up, lots of trial and error, the key is to get the hinge and wedge bolts just tight enough that you can move the door to the right spot, and then fully tighten them. |

Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
Thanks Jonz... I'm going to mess with it some more today. Got me some paint sticks this morning and did some research last night. Hopefully I don't have something slightly off structurally and that's causing my issues.

Managed to get the door back on and working although it's not real good. Probably needs completely rebuilt but it's on for now. Also got the front fenders cobbled on and lower mounts made. Did some other body work stuff. Had to rework the exhaust mounts because the straps broke. Hopefully my new mounting idea works. Also started working on the floors but didn't make much progress. I did however make an intake out of an old hubcap. The factory intake wouldn't clear the hood with a 4" channel.

Did some body work but not enough....decided I didn't care enough to make it perfect because it will never be anyways. I've already dented up the newer bedsides laying it out on stuff. So this happened next.

Even won 2 awards. Won't the lowest award and also won a trophy from a car club for top pick. Club is all VW's hence the bus. Super cool to be given an award.
