The picture of the rear portion of the frame where you narrowed it did you reinforce the inside of the frame before you boxed it in? Also how did you attach the two frames together? Later in the picture of your frame you also triangulated the frames together with gussets. Did this add alot of strength to the frame?

Mine are kinda a pain taking them off and on. Then I have to torque those Welds to spec.

Forgot you were talking about the tilt/dump bed. I changed my mind on that idea.
Money and more cutting, welding & fabricating;)
I'm going to have a small fortune tied up in the bed as it is.

I can't remember.... were you gonna add a fuel cell in the back like mine?
If so filling up with gas want be to bad with the tilt. How far back are you gonna set it back? The tilt that is.

Here's a pic of the inside where my frame is attached to the narrowed section.
The left portion with the wood on it is the original frame. I wish I could tell you how it was done but I had a guy with a lot more experience than I had at the time do it. I did add some gussets but they were more for looks than anything else.

I am going to run a fuel cell on the rear of the frame. It should sit on top of the lower section of the frame. I took some measurements and I should be able to run a 16 to 20 gallon tank.
Here's a pic of where the tilt will pivot with the bed attached. The hole in the frame is where it pivots. It's pretty far back.

A little more progress on the truck.
I had to mount my front bumper. These first few pics show how they came from the factory. I think it sticks out a little to far so I'm going to change that.

So on with the changes.
I had to make some new brackets so I made some templates out of cardboard.
transferred the design to some 3/16 plate and went to work with my angle grinder.
After a little refinement this is what we get.

Drill a few holes and test fit them to the frame. On a side note I did have to modify my frame horns again.
A little welding and we're almost there.

The first pic is the original.
The next pics are what you get when you flip the bumper.
Please excuse the jack. As soon as my tires hit the ground I can't get it out (this will be corrected).
It draws it into the truck and IMHO looks better for what I'm doing.
I will be shortening the ends so they don't intrude on the wheel openings.

I am changing the headlight buckets. I filled in the area that gets covered by the original bezel under the eyebrow. I just haven't found what I'm going to use yet.

Yes OrrieG I'm going to narrow the bumper some. I still have to figure how much.

I have to use whats available and they were nice and wide.
I set the front tires in them when I was doing my hood and needed extra room to crawl under and get up in the engine compartment.

Nice going! I'm going make brackets for my bumper that weld on just to clean up the bumper, I will probably leave it the original way. If I ever get to my bumper.. Thanks for the idea
