Patch pannels orderd from Tim Christian today, $266.93 shipped. Every floor patch and the roof patch. Ive gotmy work cut out..

Haha that last pic was funny. You seem to be able to handle rust problems better then me. All I had was rusted floors and cab corners and I find that a problem. But Im also having to build my own panels for the floor. Anyway, nice work man, coming along nicely.

Thanks man I need the encouraging words for when I get my patches. Right now im havin fun weldin holes and misc rust! I'll let ya know how welding pannels is when I do tacks all across the bottom of the roof!!!

talk about gettin' burnt up! I was in the pool (full of stuff hasnt been cleaned yet but it was nice to cool off!)

What kinda welder you using? I wore shorts today while welding and now my legs are burnt lol.

lincoln 110 wire welder..he said something about a 125 (maybe dreaming im tired) i dont think Ive gotten burnt. cant tell

went fishing today.

welded a few holes up on the doors and found more rust in the lower corners of both doors (4 spots)

tomorow:grind paint rest of door holes, fix rust in lower door. and take/post pics of cowl rust for the board to see and tell me what i should do and keep waiting for parts :) :( I CANT WAIT FOR RUST TO BE DONE WITH

Ha, I bet you cant. If my truck had this much rust I would have gave up already. BTW, what color you gonna paint this thing?

I know you're attached to the cab, but you really should consider looking for a complete roller with a good cab and part the rest out or a nice cab itself...You'll have 5-600 in patch panels plus COUNTLESS hours when you're done.....

i know VA. Theres a few cabs I know of but they look about the same or they're beat up (huge dents). I had a very nice cab (orche) it didnt have any rust on the firewall or driprails/windshield but had AC also! Dad didnt want it sitting in the yard anymore :) And thanks for the U bolts got em in today.

i dunno what color ima paint it i didnt have a clue about welding sheemetal or any kinda bodywork, i just wanna get it solid and not leaking (when it rains) then i'll worry about paint

I know whatchall mean about the snowball effect! Mine is/(was) a DD. Its been out a few weeks now..

what should I put on the rusted areas (botttom of lower cowl vent (slightly rusted so I cut off and made patch, what should I spray/put in there, anything?)

It's called rust buster or similar. It goes on clear and you know it's worked when the metal turns black. I've seen it at auto parts stores and some walmarts.

supposed to convert the rust to solid metal and stop the rust process and give you a good base to paint which is what will keep it from rusting again. I plan to open up my rockers and spray it inside on my patina truck as well as spray it inside the cab mounts.

Ok, so I need to paint OVERTOP of the rust converter?

Im def. going to get a COUPLE cans of this stuff and spray INBETWEEN pannels...

Heres some pics from today. If I could go back in time Id buy another cab and work on it while I drive mine then swap em I GOTTA LOTTA RUST AND THATS A LOT OF WORK!

haha ima finish the pass. side and windshield area then DRIVE IT before I do the drivers side its a job! I dont work on it much lol i went fishin today...bad thing is its my DD

hopefully my outer floorpan comes monday and hopefully tomorow I get the cowl area FINISHED!

I need some seam sealer for pannels and windshield areas.. Any recommendtaions/brands? Thanks
