ran into a problem, like wise...motor is sitting too far back and the cab hits the rockers...so as of right now i have the complete motor and transmission sitting on two jacks... a bent and messed up jack and my old delco motorcycle jack...hopefully ill figure out what the problem is...

Since i hit a dead end for the day, and the motor/tranny just sitting there i decided to set the seat in there and put a few things in the cab just to see what it would look like...its gonna look good especially with the blue tubing...

Re: My 68 swb build.

im stumped on the motor being too far back..the mount brackets came from a 68 longbed i had...but i went down the road to a neighbors who has a 70 swb, and the brackets look similar, but the bottom that bolts to the k frame looks like its bent in more...

Nice. You'll get it though. The interior's gonna be killer, not to mention the whole truck!

Re: My 68 swb build.

i found the correct mounts in a auto salvage down the road from me 108.00 pulled. you should have seen the 71 p/u its coming from. demolished...motor in tact tho..anybody want anything off the motor? im gonna have them pull the powersteering pump, there is a harmonic balancer, intake 1 barrell carb heads(no covers) hood is the only cover... bunch of little stuff..not sure on the motor size, didnt look at it that close, i was ankle deep in mud..lol

Cool! I guess they were 6 cylinder mounts? Glad to hear you found the right ones. The interior is gonna look killer when ya get it all together. What are your plans on the steering column, black or white? Are ya hiding the radio in the glove box and keeping the original in the dash?

Yup they are 6 cylinder mounts. Kinda glad mike at the salvage yard saves every 67-72 Chevy he gets. Not really any good parts left but little stuff if I can get it. I gotta get my hands on them and share the wealth!! Lol. I dunno on the column just yet. Probably black or polished? I have an am radio but its kinda froze up. Honestly I'm thinking of the retro design they make as a replacement. Maybe put speakers under the dash kinda like the blazer but more hidden. And most def behind the beautiful seat!!!

Thanks!!! I'm still waiting for the door panels and visors. BTW this is the second set I've had to give him. Little thing called miscommunication. Lol. He cut the hole for the electric window switch too high. Oh well thats y u have spares. Lol. The cluster is Oem gauges and I redid it. The v8 Tach and air psi gauge came from a c50 or c60. Add a new repro bezel and a new circuit and vinyl overlays. Voila!!! You can get them from whitegauges.com. ill be doing another one but without the Tach but this time I'm gonna do glow in the dark needle paint.

Believe it or not it took forever to pick this color. A yr of patience and agony with the body guy and I finally got everything but the bed. And he wants that gone too!!!
