Are you using the updated version w/ narrowed track width?

Nice! Do you plan to do before/after track width comparisons? What's your current setup?

I'll do my best. Current set up is stock coils with 1 and 1/2 coils removed and no alignment done....rides and steers like crap.

You should see and feel a HUGE improvement :)

Maybe take a tape measure, if you're using the same wheels after, and measure the outer edge of the wheel in comparison to the fender lip. I'd love to see where you end up. Curious if these spindles perform as advertised, and you're the only one I know of who has (or is getting) them.

Good luck with the upgrades :chevy:

Slight update. I got the spindles from CPP, this set was cast with part number CP4S4 just like the first set I recieved (I need CP4S3). I called CPP and they use casting CP4S4 for all of the 60-87 trucks and just machine that casting differently for each year range with no markings other than the part number ON THE BOX :banghead:

I now have all my parts sitting here waiting for time. Right now I'm working on a '97 Honda Civic that needs: CV axles, differental seals, inner tie rod ends and boots, timing belt, all 3 other belts, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve cover gasket, motor mounts, fuel filter, air filter, trans fluid flush and a oil change. Hopefully will have it done tonight if the special "pulley holder" tool gets here so I can get to the timing belt.

That sounds kinda crappy. All somebody has to do is switch parts and boxes then who knows what spindle you've got.

That sux! I've heard of lots of people not being happy with CPP's service. Good news is once the Honda is done, you'll be pulling down 40mpg. I do in my 93 HB Si (fully riced-out of course )

Man, I hope you got the right parts this time from CPP. Sorry to hear about all the trouble. I've had pretty good luck with them.(never had to return anything yet).
Sounds like you have your hands full with the foreign project.

Hey, quick question: What size is this hole saw? Anything special about the drilling? Thanks

4" hole saw, Use as big and slow of a drill as you have and don't let it get away.

Thanks,
I will have to get one of those. My set only goes up to 3.25" I think.

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Front end done!

Powder coated A arms
New upper and lower cross shafts
New lower shaft U bolts
New ball joints
CPP drop spindles
New tie rod ends
New idler arm
New Stock CPP springs with 1/2 coil cut
KYB shocks
New bearings and seals
Turned rotors
New brake pads
Rebuilt calipers
CPP 1.25" sway bar

The spindles did push the wheels out a hair it seems. Before my wheels were 1.25" inside the fender now I'm at about 1".... However before I had no alignment what so ever so the top of my wheels were tipping in quite a bit

Out with the old.

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Thanks Mike.

Update, Been driving it just about every day. Rebuilt the rear suspension with poly bushings and KYB Excel-G shocks. Also stitch welded the trailing arms together to stiffen them and keep them from coming apart. Really need an alignment and find my squeak that sounds like the fan belt, but isn't...

Pics later.
