No doubt. I've gone through a gallon and theres hardly any on the truck. Most of its on the floor and in the trash. I've got a bad habbit of mixing too much and it gets hard before I've got a chance to put it on.

Oh man, I hear ya...

I always put in to much hardener and it becomes unworkable before I get done spreadin' the crap.

Learning though...

From the looks we are about at the same build stage. A little on the doors and alot on the floor. Cant seem to stop sanding it down, coworkers wondering whats going on, showing up with white powder in nose ears hair. some kind of addiction:lol:

Got home night before last and had forgot to use the air hose to blow the dust off. My wife looked at me and said, "OMG what is that all over you!". I said, "the bag busted, lol....". Yep its a dirty biz.

They should put something on the can that says,"Mix 1 oz. hardener/6 oz. resin and the working time will be 15 minutes. I hate everything about bondo, but you guys do excellent work, so something good has to be said about it

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Believe it or not I'm still sanding.... Been sick though so not much sanding, lol. Its really close to being ready for epoxy, and its really close to turning cold so I need to shift up into high gear to get it in YELLOW.

Yes, that was in the before time, in the long long ago.

Still not quite over being sick. Its buggin the weeee out of me not being able to work on it. Just not ready to breath the nastyness. Even with a mask.:waah::lol:

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Just about done with sanding. Just a little more, sanding filler that is. Then comes the epoxy, and more sanding. Then filler primer, and more sanding. Then paint, and maybe some sanding, then buffing. Yep, I got it all planned out,:lol::lol:
I took some lag bolts and bolted some chain to the joists in the ceiling. Should work nicely to hang parts from for paint. Got some more filler. Its a nice ugly green color when mixed, lol.

Started out with this stuff. It spread out nice with no pin holes but was tough to sand.

I'd ask for an update, but I'm pretty sure it's just more sanding and primer and filler and sanding, and sanding...

Check this out, Cool for sure. Theres a guy on my way to work that collects old signs. He's of course a hot rod guy. I've even seen a old telephone booth in the back of a 53' Chevy pickup one time. He's got stuff, lol. Heres the latest.

Yesterday went well. I've got a couple small places to fix but over all it looks good. Next is filler primer and yes, some more sanding, lol.

Yep:metal:

The story on the shop/house is that it used to be a garage, then turned into an apartment kinda pad and now back into a shop without a garage door, lol.... :chevy:

I'm painting in pieces. If it looks bad or has some bad trash in it etc., I'll take it to a booth and reshoot it all together. Hopefully I won't have to do that. If it turns out as nice as the tailgate did I'm in good shape.;)

I'll try to keep up with this. We could all meet and have a "watch big J paint his blazer" party. It would be a bit of a commute but just to say you were there when........... :haha:

I'm gonna have to hurry up and paint this thing aren't I.... Then everyone can come over to a "Help me bolt it together party"
Got nuthin' done this weekend. Had a birthday party to go to. Then went to the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek, I highly recommend the shoot to anyone that enjoys firearms. I did get to the garage/palace today and helped my dad work on his S10. New pitman arm and rear shocks.

Worked on making space yesterday. Went through and dug out everything that needs to be yellow, I hope. I'm going to try and prime/paint everything at once. I've made a spot for it all to hang. Should work out. If I can get off work Tues. and Wens. it'll be in color.

I like the hood, been thinking about going with one of those.

Who'd you get that from? Manufacturer?

Do you have good heat in the shop?

We had a decent frost here this morning, then it hit about 60, lol....

Everything is scuffed and hung. Last thing to do is wipe it down then I can shoot primer. I got a scary experience for ya. Pick up and hang a brand new cowl hood by yourself:lol:.

Tomorrow Grey, Wensday Yellow. Mainly depends on how my grandma is doing. She's in the hospital, all prayers are welcome.

My prayers are with your Grandmother and your family. May she recover quickly and completely. The Blazer parts will still be hanging there. Take care of the important things first!

Been watching your entire build thread. I enjoy seeing the progress! Looks like you are going to end up with one great ride!!
