Nope, didn't order them yet. They are on the order list with a bunch of other parts I need to order for this LS swap

I'm really sorry that truck was worse than advertised. You'll still have a great one once it's all done but I know it's more than you planned when you bought it. Keep the pics coming, it's starting to take shape.

Looks great Ernie. It's really coming along. You going to powder coat the frame?

Bummer about the new rust discovery. I'm sure it can all be fixed. It will just take some time. I think it's safe to say that 99.9% of these trucks have some rust in them. Just a matter of time before it shows.....Keep your head up and plow through it. You'll be done in no time.

Sucks about the rust but that's child's play compared to what I found when I tore my truck apart. Stinks but it'll make for a very nice truck when done. Plus you know it'll be done right.

Re: Project: Shiro

Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate it, but I was really just trying to be funny. I know there is some rust to be dealt with, and yes I'm pissed the P.O. misrepresented the truck, but I know it's not nearly as bad as some of you have tackled. I will admit I am nervous about the unknown, as I've never done sheet metal repair. The great thing for me, but unfortunate for a few of you, is that these repairs have been done before and are well documented; mcbassin's web site documenting his journey through pictures is awesome. The other thread that documents a case of massive rust repair is sgaylord's "Jezebel". Both of these guys pulled off amazing results after starting with trucks that were much worse than mine, and thankfully did a great job documenting their journey. So, I will do my homework, collect up some new tools :metal: and with a lot of help get this part of the build knocked out. Thanks again for the comments; I hope I can provide some more substantive updates in the near future. Until then I will continue to cut up and post tid-bits that happen in the shop.

Nice work Buck! The tack welds look great, I don't think you're going to have any problem welding up your panels.

Is that filler plate from PB? I haven't seen that one before and like it.

I really like the rendering of the bed and think I like the white bumpers better than the black, but that's a touch call.

Man,... white is a favorite color of mine on these trucks,... but I have to go against the majority here.
You need the chrome.
Member Raguemoe's 67 swb is one of my all time favorites.
Sorry, but this is a classic look.

That is a nice looking truck for sure but the question is, would I want a truck that looks just like someone elses? I did learn something by looking at the pics, its all black trim and bumpers or all chome/polished. I also think the white bumpers look out of place, almost makes the front bumper look like a rear step bumper.

I guess I don't worry about someone else having the same truck.
If you like the black trim that's what you should do.
I'll sit back and shut up. Ha.

I think the black trim look could work, but you'd have to do the bumpers too....and maybe some black forgeline pro-touring type wheels...a black top might be too much?.....but then again that all white 67 is sooo sweet!

You're such a rebel!! I value all... well most opinions, but certainly yours. Like I said, it's either all black or all polished/chrome so now I need to decide. :banghead:

Ok since it's one or the other, my vote is for Chrome bumpers and trim, it just looks better to me especially with the wheels you chose. I wouldn't worry about looking like any other trucks on here, look at me I'm painting mine red and how many trucks are Red. Besides I've only seen one white c10 like that and it's the one Keith posted.

Just started and read this thread today........I think I'm caught up with all the changes. As for trim/color......gotta agree with the white/chrome look too. I know you're trying hard to get black in there (explains your love of the previous wheels?). But, as always, as the theme has been - what does your boy think? Not that he should be the final answer but it's you two that will see and drive it so you gotta do what you two like, not what everyone else wants. Keep on truckin with it........deadline's a loomin'. Subscribed.

Your truck will look good however you decide to the paint and bumpers. In the end you have to make it the way you want.
With that said, I think Chevy got these trucks "right" the first time. It's hard to beat any of them with chrome and full trim. As far as color goes, just about any color looks good on the 67-72.
Oh and don't worry about being unique. All of our trucks are different in their own ways. Height, wheels, engine, etc. rock on :metal:
