Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

OK, so the '50 Olds project is on the road and running like a rapped ape. That being said I have found a new project which is appropriate for this forum, I will take some pictures when I go pick it up Monday. Hints: whats left of it will fit on the COE, it started life longer then the COE, It is newer the the COE, it has more windows then the COE. hmmm...what could it be?

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

I am guessing based on your statement above and some of the things you have mentioned in this build thread.

Started longer than your COE, but is not any longer, longer than your COE now.

Newer than the COE.

And has more windows than the COE.

MY GUESS is: a travel trailer?

Figure maybe you found a crashed Airstream, hence the Started longer but no longer seems to be. and maybe you are gonna modify it to fit on the back of your COE?

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

OK i'll give it up: More windows the my COE, 2 more, 5 window. Newer, 54 mine is a 47. Longer, had a 18 foot flatbed. Yep, it's another COE. Found this one in western Georgia. No major rust, clean and current paperwork. One issue I will need to deal with is it's missing a lot of small parts. It was taken apart by one person, sold to another and then me. All the major stuff is there and in solid shape. I'll post up tomorrow.

I look forward to following along on the new one. I have always wanted a COE but your build makes me actively seek a COE of my own.

I can't even imagine what this thing is gonna look like. Lucky man you are. heck I'd build it and sell it cause that would bring some serious loot. I hope you don't go asking for that delete plate back!!!

Went to a car show yesterday and look what I took home. My buddy also took a top 15 trophy for his '50 Olds we just completed the LS swap on. My fleet plus his Olds, all are fuel injected.

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Hi all, so if any of you have followed my build thread you know I put a few miles on my COE (over 36K now). Well, it's that time again, I will leave Wednesday of next week and make a blast to Oklahoma for my daughter's wedding. A blast, as in 12 hours. From there it's up the road to southern Colorado (which is where the truck came from) and then to the Denver area. So that takes me to around Tuesday of the following week. From that point on I'm open to suggestions. What I'm looking for is cruise-ins or car or truck get together. If you want to take a good look at the COE and don't mind seeing a few bugs still attached to the front, just post whats going on in your area and if it's close to on my way I'll do my best to stop on by.

It would be a good time to catch up with the hot rod power tour and run a couple of legs. It will be going up into OK and ending in Kansas I believe.

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

And we're off, got rolling at 6:00. disregard the times on the camera, I need to set it correctly. For the run out I took the interstate because it's faster? You can tell this by the first picture in Atlanta! Interestingly enough I started with just a tic over 37K on the truck. Normal run conditions for the day. Had to make a quick stop in Alabama. Overall an uneventful day, gas mileage is a little lower then expected at 16.5 MPG. Long day on the road, 16 hours, 828 miles. No A/C!

Im glad your trip is uneventful so far ,it would have been fun to see your truck on the Talladega track .We have been on it a few times in our 72 Malibu convertible ,have a safe trip .

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Hey Solid, the cushion for the bottom is fine, no but burn, no issues. That being said the seat back can be a little rough. For normal driving no big deal but on a long day like yesterday it gets you in the lower back. Yesterday I was using a Yoga mat from Walmart across the back cushion. My wife had this idea and it worked great. 16 hours on the road, no discomfort yesterday no issues at all this morning. My seat is from a 1990 Silverado 60/40.

indicates 78 mph @2000 rpm - sweet - and 16.5 mpg with that flat nose - I'd say that's great
