Nice work. I like the square body too; that's the same color combo as my grandpa's LWB 2wd.

Yeah, I gotta replace the rear bumper and do a lil body work where the lady I bought it from backed it into a pole... So I figured when I finish locating all those parts I'd slap a GMC grill on it to be painted when the bed gets fixed.

Did 96 and up get a different fuel pump? I don't remember mine being nearly that expensive. I do remember how much I hated taking the bed off, though. I had just filled up the stupid tank.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

yea, the vortecs got a different fuel pump, 50-60 psi instead of 10-15 for tbi

mine went out the day after i got gas, about 10 miles of driving

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Fuel pump for the 97 silverado 350 vortec I had was $125. There were really expensive at one point, but the price came down on them.

After hunting for a 4x4 Burb, Tahoe or Yukon with lower mileage for the past 2years with no luck I found this truck and bought it. About 2 weeks ago I received a call from a man that I had met at work last summer. He was driving the truck ( in the attached pics ) and I was admiring it when he came out of the building to go home. He told me he had bought the truck new and he stored it inside all year round. It only had 103,000kms ( 63,000 miles) and he maintained it regularly. Now it has 106,000 kms ( 64,000 miles ) and it will be my basic year round daily driver. Its a 1997 Silverado 3 door Ext. Cab with a 3:42 open rear end and factory trans cooler (with no factory hitch or wiring..weird ) and tow hooks, double weird on a 4x2. I plan to get rid of the hokey whitewalls and I do not like the factory alloys on the truck. I will get/find set a set like are on the red truck in the attached pics. Oh yea I will also lose the bug deflector and thin chome strip above the factory moulding. I took the pics in the shade, but maybe should have put her in the sun.
I guess that is enough ranting for one day. !!!

Nice -- I think we need more pics. What all goes into the six lug swap? And which 5-speed did you put behind the 454?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

You want snow pics? Hah. Well, this year there isn't enough yet to be worthy of taking a picture of, although we do have a lot more than you guys have. I hear its "cold" down in the south right now, like 30's around some places in Texas. It's between 0 and 15 (fahrenheit) depending on the time of day here, for the past four or five days. High's for the next three days go 2 1 1. Anyways, idk if it's the best thread for these, and I never posted them last year, but here they are, they're still kinda interesting.

First one is the road. It was freshly plowed, and this was a drift.

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...ter/021509.jpg

Some farmer's road.

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...r/DCFC0523.jpg

This was the ditch next to where I got stuck the second time, same road as the first picture, just way before that spot. It drifted in again, and I got stuck on purpose, and we were screwin around, seeing how deep the snow bank was next to the road (drift in and a little bit of what was plowed up). He's like 5'5" and we never found ground.

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...r/DCFC0521.jpg

The picture I am not proud of. One tire on the road, other barely in the ditch, of course it's one wheel drive in the front (thanks GM, good idea there) and my G80 decided to do more slipping than locking out back.

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...e9f5b885a7.jpg

Right before our trucks is the little old farmyard where I blew out two power steering pumps (the brand new pump didn't stand a stinkin chance) I made it about 150-200 yards in snow that I was plowing with my bumper, 4Lo balls to the wall, bout hittin the rev limiter the whole way, trying to saw the tires back and forth. Made for one hell of a show, that's for sure. Engine was at like 260 and tranny was 230s the first time I made it though. Original power steering pump was shot pretty quick. Next weekend I did it again and burned out the brand new one.

And to throw some more 88-98s out there, a couple muddy ones, of mine and somebody elses
